Brian Strow Day 7 for me too, buddy. Just packing up the car to go to Wales for a week. This will be the first time I go away with absolutely no intention of drinking. I have no reason to stop drinking; paradoxically, I also have no reason to start drinking. Mindset. Clear thoughts. Holding onto memories.

Hey Kevin, thank you so much for your videos . I love my podcasts and your daily program is always first thing I listen to when I hit the hay. I don't think I've missed one out of the whole 365. Your challenge started just as I finally got off booze and drugs for good so I am celebrating a year sober. Couldn't have done it without your insight and wisdom. My life is so much better now. Getting off the main addictions has shown me all the other areas where I can improve and incrementally I'm building my own happiness. I feel emotional writing this but thank you so much Kevin you are an alchemist and a real positive light in this world.

I’ve not ever been a heavy drinker, like Tim above, congrats Tim!! But I am a retired female and was an everyday drinker. I looked forward to 4 pm, used to be later but retirement changes the times. I don’t get drunk or misbehave but I still dislike the subtle changes that happen after 2 or 3 /6 oz glasses of wine. I don’t ever want it to get to the point where I am a problem drinker....and yes the benefits are profound in so many ways. Only downside is I am always Designated Driver now. The novelty has worn off of that I have to say. Sometimes I just want to be the passenger on the way home from social events but it’s hard to say ‘no’. Funny downside, right?? At least we are safe. One odd thing that is a positive: I live on the same street as my twin teenage granddaughters. In the past they might call me and ask if can I pick them up somewhere. If I’ve had half a glass of wine I would not drive. Plus as I say my cocktail hour was usually 4, latest 5. How terrible not to be ethically able to fetch a grandchild from the gym or the rink when they suddenly need a ride. Anyway you are changing people’s lives with your experience and down to earth wisdom. Alcohol sucks and I now have realized how many of my friends need to give their drinking a harder look but deluding oneself is so easy and procrastination can only lead to a harder job of quitting. My hubby is a Brit and he drinks 2-3 pints of Brit ale plus one glass of wine everyday. He never drinks after he’s had his “tea” (dinner). It’s too much per day but he handles it very well. His liver might not agree but he has no plan to stop. Anyway he loves having a DD to do the driving haha! I am beyond chuffed with myself that I can say I am convinced that alcohol has never been my friend and does not and never did serve me well. Thanks again!!

Kevin - you are a saint and i am so inspired by you. Unfortunately after stopping multiple times for many months and even close to 2 years, i decided i could moderate and the cycle started again. I am hoping this is it. I also read it takes 5-7 years to completely recover so each time you start again you have to start over i think.

These videos are helping me stay strong. Stopped 8 days ago. Went the pub twice at the weekend because I already had the weekend away booked. Didn't drink despite being encouraged to by a friend of a friend who I'd literally only just met. 2 soft drinks and off to bed both nights. Think I found Kevin's videos after the first night which was really hard for me, but the way Kevin framed things it made the second night much easier. Went to a bowling alley tonight. Huge trigger! I actually got sacked from one in my twenties for drinking on the job. Had a couple of alcohol free beers so I had something in my hand. They don't have much of a selection of soft drinks (wonder why lol) so finished with a coke as a 'treat'. Passed the test though. 3 hours there and no alcohol. Definitely feel more relaxed and less like I 'need a drink' to unwind in the evening now too. Thanks Kevin.

If I may add another benefit? My progress beyond booze is being followed by my friends, and is seen at gatherings where others are drinking. People who feel unsure about their own alcohol intake are always seeking examples of how others have quit. They gravitate toward a model - they want to learn, to change. I think of it as stretching a hand out toward someone who may need it. They see it, they are free to grab on or leave it as they wish. But it's surprising how much good one does simply by being the change they want to see in the world.

Your videos are great mate.no bullshit.you have to want to give drink up yourself.nobody can do it for you.i havent drunk for over 3 months and I went through most of the summer without sitting out my garden knocking a few bottles of wine away a couple of times a wk.me and my brother both bought mtb during the lockdown and would go biking up the mountains.it was and still is great but since the pubs opened back up here in the uk my brother hasn't been out with me and instead opted for the pub.i passed him the other day while I was biking and he looked rough.each their own but i thought that was me a few months ago.its a shame as he was enjoying not going to the pub but it proves the pull alcohol can have.the next challenge will be xmas but I'm ready for it.itll be the 1st xmas since I was 13 and 35yrs ago that I wouldn't have drunk.I cant even look at people drinking on tv.it just turns me.nothing bad happend to me to stop drinking only that my late dad who passed away early this year said that he wished he hadn't gone to the pub as often as he did which was 3 times a wk.it just started me thinking and weighing up the pros and cons of alcohol.it was an easy choice in the end.it helps my partner and eldest son dont drink and my daughter has no plans to either.guess I dont aswell.good luck all on your journeys

Love your approach. I like listening to audiodharma.org when having difficulty sleeping. Be kind to yourself. Love your body. Never pick up poison in a pretty bottle. Sleeping better and eating mainly a plant based diet with nuts and dried fruits for sweets instead of a bucket of ice cream. Now exercising and losing weight. Feeling 100% better. So much happier and healthier. Freedom of Self Determination with balance, loving life with a clear mind and kind heart. Blessings Kevin. I bought two of your books on Amazon. Fun to read on long plane trips.

'Positive propaganda,' I like that. No matter what you're view of reality, a portion of it is created by you as you go along. The booze leads to a certain amount of negative propaganda in order to keep you more open to drinking more than one should. May as well move toward replacing that with positive, sober propaganda. Nice!
