What can you do in the ICON A5?
Well, pretty much anything. This is what the ICON Life looks like. The ICON A5 is here and ready for delivery. ICON is taking orders and shipping its aircraft to owners.
Maybe you’ve never heard of ICON or the A5. In short, the A5 is an amphibious light sport aircraft (S-LSA). It’s one of the first personal aircraft that can take you almost anywhere, be it a luxury destination, remote island, or grass strip in the backcountry. The A5 also has an optional trailer and foldable wings that allows you to tow it behind your car. You can even pull the plane up and park it at your backyard dock or local marina.
The ICON A5 is a land-based plane and a seaplane with the versatility to function as a boat but also the flexibility to take off and head back to the skies.
At ICON, we set out to create a sport airplane that redefines flying, a plane that is extremely safe and easy to fly, but also enables you to unlock adventures typically inaccessible by traditional aircraft. We hope our latest video answers the question as to whether or not the ICON A5 life is right for you.

I own this plane! Flys great, very compact and easy to store. It all fits on my desktop and probably doesn’t take up more than a couple megabytes.

Jo and we can meet us at my privat airport in my backyard 😂😂😂you can be rich but 99% of the rich one are not rich enough to have a private airport. In Europa you have no space by law for such a "ofroad" airplay, Easley it is not allowed to start and land everywhere at the lake or sea. How is it in the US, is it allowed by law to start at every lake? So the idea of, flying to fishing is really funny but in Germany and the rest of the EU nearly impossible.

It makes sense, because to store in a hangar could be expensive overtime but if you store home in your garage you save money and also you wouldn't have anywhere to really take off. It's like people owning boat/ jet skis and who dont live near the beach.

Microsoft's new flight sim is absolutely amazing. I just flew the Icon A5 out of Seattle WA. 96 miles south to Mt. St. Helens! The volcano looked incredible as i was coming in from 11,000 ft . Also, there are a couple huge lakes near the mountain, and so I landed the Icon on the one which is on the north side. After the landing I was just floating while enjoying a JAW DROPPING view of Mt. St. Helens from that lake!! I was blown away by that experience. I can't believe how great everything looked and that It was even possible to do that!!!!!! I HIGHLY recommend that flight.

By the way, I didn't even factor in fuel cost, or renting the runaway costs (landing anywhere is nice marketing, but you'd be crazy to think you have permission to land everywhere you want).

These included contractually required pilot training, maintenance, agreements not to sue, the requirement for factory airframe overhauls every 2,000 hours or ten years (whichever comes first), and a limit on the aircraft's life of 6,000 hours, or thirty years. Furthermore, each aircraft would be equipped with a camera and recorder to monitor pilot behavior, that is owned by the manufacturer but must be maintained by the owner. Owners would have to agree to be "supportive" of the company. Future owners were required to sign the same agreement or face penalties"
