Here are just some of the ground rules in our home.
1. Take your meds as prescribed no more no less
2. Keep all of your mental health appointments
3. You need to take full control of the finances
4. no drinking or drugs unless prescribed
5. No stepping outside of the relationship
6. When I say you need to go to the hospital, you go.
These are just a few to get you started. Try not to take it personally when your loved one is in mania. Most often the case, they will remember little of it when they are in a delusional state and seeing things that are not there. While in this state, they may think they are very rich and drain all the household accounts. You need to control that.
