Very beautiful and inspiring! I see this is from 2017, I hope you are well. My husband who is diabetic with high blood pressure was today diagnosed with high potassium levels as well. We are both feeling very sad and defeated. Eating for diabetes and high potassium is very confusing. He is 65 years old and thin. I only hope and pray we will be able to do as well as the two of you.

Most cases of hyperkalemia developed during hospitalization (in 60% of the cohort) with a mean admission potassium level of 5.7±1.5 meq/L rising to 7.1±0.7 meq/L after an average of 17 days of follow-up. koreans died in hospital

Another thing that people don't realize is that a depending on what raw fruits and vegetables you eat, they too can can tribute to low functioning kidneys. Oranges, bananas, dried fruit, salt, tomatoes, nuts, beans, avocados, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, cooked spinach all contain high amounts of potassium which are terrible for your kidneys. Be sure to eat cabbage, onions, raw spinach, grapes (especially red ones), carrots, cucumbers, watermelon, broccoli, celery which are low in potassium

All melons are actually high in potassium. You can eat those things, just not too much!
