Thanks Lauren on your interpretation and experience. I have also had counseling occasionally through the years I have a social worker for almost 5 years through the MS society. Right now She has moved Two Parkinson's foundation because the dynamics of the MS society changed. I was left with no advocate that is what I considered her. I now get mental health counseling form my progressive disease and advocacy. I have also had floods and June 27 is the anniversary of my father's death. Seeing the counselor made me think about my future will more and it's very difficult so glad she comes to see me. Keep posting, keep separate smile and I hope you don't have any more floods… Me to. Christine

Hi Christine! Thank you for writing and understanding me! I feel so bad that the social worker you were working with moved and you were left with no advocate, but I'm so glad you are getting mental health counseling from your progressive disease and advocacy! Oh my gosh, June 27 is a memorable day for you, too. I'm so glad your counselor has been helpful!! And yes, let's hope that there are no more floods!! I wish you the very best with everything!!

I enjoy your videos but have never commented. Keep doing what you are doing. You are very brave and I hope that you have been doing well with the people that feel the need to comment negatively sometimes. I have had MS for 13 years now and I am glad to see people like you that share their truth with the goal of helping others. You're doing a great job!

I'm glad it's helping you, Lauren. Therapy is a great place to return to when life's path becomes bumpy. I've had therapy on and off since I was in primary school. I did a LOT of it in my 20's and now in my early 30's, I'm really seeing the rewards of it in my life and how it's helping me cope with challenges. I have more insight into my life, my reactions, what's happening instead of just knowing what the feeling is. I had a wonderful holistic counselor for the past 3 years but she's left her job to travel Asia. I'm now in the process of finding somebody new for when I need it. I agree, having someone help you out by pointing things out, asking questions and letting you come to your own decisions is so very helpful. Sounds like you've found the right fit! Take care. :) xx

I'm so happy that you found a good therapist, I think or at least hope that the stigma of seeking help has lessened. You're right no one has a perfect life. Great topic!!

I have listened to you off and on over the years with MS. I look forward to your positive advice. You try. To try is to win, for without trying, nothing can be accomplished. I’m glad to see the baby grand behind you. Music therapy has been my largest help. However, I have lost my piano and have an old piano as a temporary. My beautiful wife has gone back to school to take on the slack from my disabled self. I have taken up the violin to keep from muscle memory setting in with my hands. My wife has one more year and she will be an attorney (something all MS patients need, too). I’m proud to see you taking on these variety of avenues. No one person has MS the same; hence, no one treatment will always work. Hold your head high, as you are a success. Kindest regards from a friend in the same fight, Jdg “Robert” Worsham

Hi lauren, I think to go to a psychologist is a sign of strength. There are so many people that would help to go to the psychologist. I hope you know what I mean. I make two therapies for 2 years. It helps me to accept the MS an the things that changed. I wish you all the best lauren 😊

Great video as always, I have PPMS and last November needed Heart surgery for a different matter. The folks have been so helpful with physical therapy. I’ve been out of it since March

Glad you found a therapist that works for you and it seems to agree with you. I have always been critical of MD's, and dentists. Sadly I feel the same about therapists but what do i know? I know i feel better when they're not around, that i can say LOL! 😃 Have a great summer Lauren.

@@LaurenParrott You have to deal with your stress and issues that cause the stress, this is a positive thing for sure. I'm not experienced with grieving and that makes me lucky. Thanks for your videos on such a tough topic.👌

therapy is a very useful tool to figure out things about your self, talking to a "trained outsider" allows you (and me) to see things clearer :-)

I agree about therapy. I went for a couple years after my diagnosis and then I went thru a family crisis so between MS and that I needed therapy. Recently I went thru a family crisis again and sure I would have gotten thru it easier if I had gone again.
