Great video mate! Just got a M2c 8 weeks ago from a m140 too. Been for the run in service, just starting to open it up properly. Defs agree it’s a massive step up in terms of handling from the m140 the diff gives loads of extra grip on exit. Keep the brilliant videos coming

That is the most impressive part to me about the M2C, is coming out of corners and opening. Its so ez to control and stabilizes fast. Balance is what separates it. Had the M235x before. Cant go back.

I’m a little confused regarding servicing . I was told the M2 comp needs a service every two years or 18,000 miles . The major service is done at 36,000 miles and not at 15,000 as you say on the video
@MrHCars3 жыл бұрын
Was hoping no one would spot that mistake 😂😂 You’re right by the way, my sources were wrong! 18k miles from run in service for a minor then 18k after that for a major haha

A major service at a BMW specialist will cost around £400, and they are often better than main dealers. Again with a warranty, go independent and pay another £400py, not a grand...

It's subjective but I think your exhaust sounds fine. I have noticed that the exhaust on BMWs bed in around 8K ,by then most have changed their exhaust.
@MrHCars3 жыл бұрын
You know what Carl...? I agree. After making this video and hearing the clips, I’ve come around and now think the exhaust sounds perfectly fine. Making changes is a lot of money, for something that already sounds great OEM. I’ll still spray that muffler black though 😁

The stock exhaust in non-EU and non-UK markets sounds even better because there's no mandated particulate filters. It's a pity that idiots (including owners of the original M2) don't acknowledge this - apart from comparing 2 completely different engines (N55 vs S55).
@nessuno54033 жыл бұрын
Spot on review👌🏻 except for maybe the end and making some believe the OG is comparable. It isn't. The OG is more nimble and definitely good used value, but the Competition pulls like a train and rides better. It is a full M whereas the OG is challenged by an M240i now.
@enrique-3 жыл бұрын
It only rides "better" because it weighs almost 200lbs more. The only real difference is the engine and the brakes, but I wouldn't even consider the brakes an upgrade since you cannot fit any aftermarket wheels on them. Just remember that if BMW considers it a true M car, it is a true M car.
@nessuno54033 жыл бұрын
@@enrique- you're not entirely correct. The brakes you refer to are the 2NH 6 piston front and 4 rear? They are optional in most world markets. The suspension is DIFFERENT - biggest clue is the carbon front strut everyone forgets about, to pretend the OG M2 is similar to M2C except for the engine.
@enrique-3 жыл бұрын
@@nessuno5403 That's true I'm in the US so 6 Piston is only available. The suspension is all the same but you are correct in saying that the strut brace is different. The carbon strut brace does make a big difference imo but it can be fitted to the OG.
@enrique-3 жыл бұрын
@@nessuno5403 Also the M240i challenges the comp as well, it has a B58 which has been proven to be able to hold upwards of 800hp on the new Supra and it is awd so you are putting more power to the ground. The M240i would probably beat both cars but thats a different issue
@nessuno54033 жыл бұрын
@@enrique- thanks for acknowledging my points but have to disagree about the B58 :) It could only beat S55 if modified, so if you modify both, the S55 is still ahead. The M240i in most markets is only also RWD. In the US you get more!

So you also had the rear indicator problem. I had it into service twice, first time BMW simply reprogrammed the car and said they hope its fixed (wtf). I also had my amplifier fried and what worries me is if its an electric problem in the car that caused that and the rear indicator issues. You pay less tax than I do here in Sweden but knowing 2/3 of that tax money goes to help people buy electric cars makes me my car very environment friendly. ; )
@MrHCars3 жыл бұрын
Yes i've had it twice, common fault on all 2 series but BMW will happily solve it for you if under warranty. Just like you, they took the quick approach and cleaned my connections... but the second time they just replaced the whole unit. And I also had my amp cap replaced too, another common fault lol but seems to all be resolved now! I like your way of thinking Mattias 😏
