Bish's RV in Idaho Falls, Idah have been absolutely rocks stars for me. I have purchased two RVs from them, and they have been very quick and fair for any repairs I've needed done. They have stepped up on anything that was wrong from the manufacturer and have been very fair on repairs caused by my mistakes. I would totally recommend them. I was in there one day asking about some upgrades I wanted to make when a family came in from Georgia that had some problems with their RV. Idaho Falls is within 100 miles of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks so there are a lot of tourists from all over the country in the summer coming to that area. Anyway, this family had some problems that needed a professional fix. Most RV dealers will only fix Rv's they have sold; not them, even though they were busy, Bish's asked a few questions, got them in for repairs within an hour and had them on their way the same day. Thats the type of dealer I want to buy from. I always advocate, don't just look at the RV brand and/or floor plan but make sure you have a good dealer. No matter the RV brand you buy, they all have problems and breakdowns. A good dealer will make all the difference in the world on your RV experience after the sale.

Buy a pre-Obama Class A. My dad just gave us his 2002 Georgie-Boy Landau 2950 DS. The quality of the cabinetry, fit and finish would not look out of place in a Prevost, just not as fancy. All thick, solid wood. With the 8.1 l 30' Workhorse chassis it's a maneuverable hot-rod that will be welcomed (and I can park) practically anywhere. We are modernizing it for about 10 grand (4 camera DVR/blind spot system, 2nd air conditioner, battery system so I can run the microwave, etc. without shore power or running the generator). You can probably get a nice one for 25-35K. The new stuff is made of toilet paper and broken promises.

I have a Cyclone with same issues with the gray tank leaking into the belly within about 6 months. I was not traveling as extensively. Mine was a 2020 built pre-covid. I had about 75 issues in which the dealer LaMesa RV pretended to fix but never did. Had my rig for 8 months. Looooong story but scummy dealers with scummy manufacturers = bad product. The dealers and manufacturers use reputation management companies to bury bad reviews. I mean bury them deeply, even if you do extensive research, you have to dig deep into forums too and then get buried there too. I have met 3 Cyclone owners on my travels, all have stories to tell.

What a precious blessing your are Liz!!! I was shocked and speechless after watching what has happened to a few of your viewers!!! After seeing these last few videos, I feel very VERY lucky on our recent purchase of a travel trailer....ours is just a used (a 2019 Palomino Puma by Forest River) but so far it is super nice! We have not encountered a single problem yet (KNOCK ON WOOD!!! LOL!!!) My husband works on the coast and instead of paying for hotel every weekday like we had been doing, we purchased our 37' travel trailer for him to live in during the weekdays ....saves us soooo much money! Now we only pay lot rent ($500 a month that includes electric, water & sewer and lawn maintenance) and since it is only 15 minutes to the beach, we now have a little vacation place -very close to New Bern NC and Beaufort, NC to stay at too!!!) He just installed one of those hot water heaters where you never run out of hot water and he loves it so far!!! After we purchased our travel trailer, I found your youtube videos and subscribed! Now I am hooked on watching your videos and never miss a single one! One day we may want to sell ours and purchase a newer RV so I watch your channel so I can keep up with what company will do good and stand by their customers and who does not! I am sure many of us would agree....word of mouth is EVERYTHING when it comes to spending a substantial amount of money! Thank you for everything you do Liz, you truly are such a blessing!!!

The motorhome sweet spot is 2002 to 2008. Whatever you buy, join the Facebook group of the model to get the scoop from owners. And always get an inspection. Another advantage of buying used is the seller has typically gotten the kinks out. Thanks for watching.

That is why some people built tiny homes, they don't seem to have leaks and they built them like they want. They usually park them, and move them once in a while. It seems a better solution. If you want to wander , stay at hotels, camp, rent a trailer. Dont buy. As for the defective RV'S , maybe just park them and cover the top with a tarp to prevent leaks? Built a carport over them?

They had multiple chances to fix it and didn't do it right, consistently. The quality of customer service across all sectors has become a nightmare for the most part. Shame on Thor and Four Winds.

Contacting the Better Business Bureau can also help. While some do just ignore complaints, most don't want a long list of unresolved complaints sitting there. I had issues with a mattress and kept getting the run around. Within an hour of filing the complaint I got a call from an upper management person and he had already arranged for a local inspector to look at it. The inspector found that the whole top had fallen in and promptly replaced the mattress.

Anybody know of any websites or consumer group that tries to bring all the customer data together? Like a one stop shop where everybody throughout the industry can go to record their issues and success stories? Basically what Liz is doing but at much bigger scale? I might have to build something if not.

I'm sorry to hear that Ron. It took me 26 years to get out and I LOVE THIS LIFE!! Not a good time to buy new, but trailers and fifth wheels built in 2019 and before tend to be well-built. The motorhome sweet spot is 2002 to 2008. Whatever you buy, join the Facebook group of the model to get the scoop from owners. And always get an inspection. Another advantage of buying used is the seller has typically gotten the kinks out. Thanks for watching.

My ex gf and I completely gutted a 1978 RV and replaced wood with aluminum and padded the floors and insulated it extremely well. The inside looks like seriously high tech. The quality we put into it was expensive but the RV interior will last longer than any $500,000 manufactured RV. The exterior looks 1978 but the interior looks like the bridge of The Enterprise from Star Trek. 😁😁😁

Thank you, Liz, for another wonderful video about some unpleasant situations. That "what's going to go wrong next" feeling is bad enough in either a home or a vehicle, but when combined it seems to multiply. You're shining a bright light into some dark corners, and we appreciate you and your efforts! BTW: If you come across any shady dealers in the Detroit area, a collaboration with Rob Wolchek and his, "Hall of Shame," series might be fun. Your compassionate personality and investigative work along with his flair for the dramatic seem like they'd make a wonderfully entertaining and informational video! 🙂

A little tip everyone can benefit from. All RV's get loose cabinet hinge screws. Have on board wooden tooth picks or something like and super glue. When screws become loose put glue on the toothpick end and hammerer it into the hole. Break it off and put the screw back in. Over the years have done this many times.

Liz, I serendipitously stumbled onto your channel one day about 3-4 weeks ago. That video I watched was about the quality issues many folks and apparently the industry is having. I don’t even own an RV currently, but I am considering the possibility. In my search I had been disappointed in the quality issues I was seeing in materials and fit/finish, so your video about that caught my eye. I was a bit disappointed as that video mostly just listed problems and issues, but not much regarding any resolutions people were getting. Since then I’ve watch a couple of your other videos including this one. I wanted to tell you I’m impressed by what you are doing, the quality of the vids and the content is great. Seems to me, the Thor owner here might not have gotten the resolution he did without your channel and efforts. Well done and I look forward to more from your channel. 😊😎

Thank you so much for your videos. They shed light on the level of QC, or lack of, in the RV industry. I get that there are good dealers and warranty that will fix problems but as I've said many times, the best warranty is the one you never have to use. Anyway, after seeing some of your videos and hearing about owners' experiences it appears that RV industry's QC is reminiscent of automotive industry's QC back in the '70s. As I've learned in college and once I've started working as an engineer (I'm paraphrasing), for every dollar spent on QC during manufacturing you save $10 in repairs during pre delivery inspection (if they even do that), and $100 in warranty repair at the dealership. I'm amazed at the lack of care in QC exhibited by the RV manufacturers. Makes me not want to get one anymore and just stick with hotels and Airbnb.
