Fantastic tutorial kerry, i love the variety of videos on your channel, I would love to see an acrylic kingfisher done in greyscale and then glazed over with colours, you should consider doing patreon!

Awe thank you Brian. A Kingfisher in Acrylic is now on my to do list 👍🏻 Patreon is something I’m wanting to set up but at the moment I just wouldn’t have the time to commit to it properly. Hopefully next year 🙏🏻 xXx

This looks like so much fun! Am surely going to try it soon :) Enjoy all your varied content and find the info in the long(er) videos helpful, as they give a clearer idea of your process. Don't have all the same supplies as you. Could you maybe sugges alternatives for matte acrylics? Am a hobbyist, but would appreciate knowing whether it's still archival after the bubbles?

Awe thank you so very much for your lovely comment, truly appreciated. You could try using a crafting acrylic paint, they are cheaper but should still be opaque enough to enable you to cover any background, or acrylic pens such as Posca pens. As for the bubbles 🫧 Fairy washing up liquid is pH neutral so shouldn’t affect the paper at all. It also shouldn’t affect the acrylic paint either. Remember that this little painting was an experiment, so will be keeping it for myself xXx

Very inspiring Kerry! I purchased a tray for this project so I could give it a spin. I have watercolor paper however, I was wondering would the hot press watercolor block 100 % cotton paper 140 lb that I use for my polychromos pencils work as well?

Awe thank you, it’s great when one of my videos inspires someone to try something new ☺️ Any watercolour paper is worth a try, as long as it’s at least 140lb weight. Obviously you’ll want to remove each sheet from the block as you don’t want the rest of your block to get damaged in any way xXx
