We love Lizzo

I’ve been re-visiting these videos myself quite a bit during the last few weeks with all that is happening! They really are providing me with some level of reassurance that the world is capable of change. I don’t know the answer to racism and police brutality and won’t try to suggest a solution here. I hope my videos help serve as an example of all different types of people coming together in agreement. That being said, I believe they are also an example of the continued existence of White Privilege - this is Lizzo’s home town yet most of the audience appears to be white. Not sure why, but looking back at the crowd in these videos, my impression is that it is most likely because of continued advantages whites receive. I’m 60, so I’ve seen a lot of progress in white attitudes since my childhood, yet it’s still such a huge problem! I hope that real change happens during my lifetime. Keep going, Lizzo! You give us hope!
