Here I go to a smaller city metro station in China and compare it to the richest city in America's metro station.
What do you think about this? Truly shocking.

30 years ago, when China started building massive high ways, mega bridges, mega dams, and then HSR….the world just laughed ,saying that China is too poor, has no money or technology to do it, but when China completed some project, the world kept laughing, and think that, all the projects will collapsed with in months….and now after most of the mega project have completed, over 45000km HSR are in operational , all function well, no issue, no collapsed bridges or high rises… the world are now surprised : how could China done it??? But some are still crisizing like : “China government is wasting money on building all these super systems, because they will never make money, blah blah… Ha ha ha….yes they are right, Chinese government didn’t build these projects for profits, they built it to serve Chinese people.

I'm American and lived in Chongqing and Hong Kong for a couple of months. New York's MTA system is one attribute of a much larger cultural problem. The US has the money and resources to have nice things but too often public transit isn't consistently funded as well as it should be. Additionally, maintenance/repairs/upgrades are heavily reliant on contractors, so the costs of doing these are much greater than they would be if agencies did it on their own. Lastly, Americans have a tendency to build and let things fall into disrepair with little maintenance, to the point where it would be cheaper to demolish and rebuild again. I'm happy to see you enjoying yourself, I'm currently in SE Asia but would like to work in China long term!

I am living in Shanghai and just lived in Beijing during former more than 10 years. I must admit the living cost of Beijing and Shanghai is far expensive than the city like Kun ming. If you retied and live in Kun ming. It is a common sense that you will enjoy your retired life far better than living in Beijing and Shanghai. But for working populations, there are more chance you can find in Beijing and Shanghai. Sometimes we have to make a choice, just like many people living in LA and NY.

I’m just back from 1 month travelling around China and I have to say I was mightily impressed with their infrastructure. Trains, roads, tunnels and bridges all very impressive. Took a number of HST’s and the fastest from Chengdu to Chongqing was moving at 350 kph and very quiet and smooth. Very impressive. Also China is very safe which is probably down to the cctv everywhere. Some people don’t like it but if you’re not doing anything you’re not supposed to, I don’t have a problem with it.

Some may argue that comparing a brand-new facility to an older one, unfair this unfair that. The actual reality is that Anglo-Saxon media often criticizes China's government, labeling it as dictatorial and inhumane. Yet, can any country point to a facility built primarily for its citizens with such high efficiency? The answer is likely none. I live in Australia, where democracy is touted as giving voice to the people and prioritizing their needs. However, it often serves the interests of a select few, creating an illusion of participation rather than true democracy. And another interesting thing I lately heart, many Americans talk about decentralized systems in blockchain, no against new technology, but the truth is, without a strong centralized system, progress is difficult. Simply voting every day without decisive action leads nowhere.

The United States is becoming ignorant and ignorant, just like China 150 years ago. At that time, China was rich and stable, so it disdained to see what was really changing in the world, and what it brought was the next 100 years.😢😢😢

Kunming produces 70% of the flowers in China. My friends and I often joke that Kunming sends 70% of the romance to China every day, and 30% of the romance is directly planted in Kunming, so Kunming is a romantic city!🎉🎉🎉

I have been to China too, I agree that most cities and places are safe , while in NY, I wasn't too sure about that, at least I wont' feel too comfortable travelling in the subway alone. btw, since you are from So uth Africa, do you think South AFrica or New York is more dangerous ? which city is safer? thanks Lizzy. (having said that, I think the subway in in HK are still slightly better than those in mainland China, and the experience of subway commute in Japan are 10 times better than in China, cuz people all very quiet , and China people usually like to play musics/ radio / tiktok from their phone's speakers, so it's very noisy and annoying. ( I remember there is a new law in some China cities that doing so is now forbiddened ! good job China govt )

Even China's oldest subway, Beijing's Line 1 (opened in 1965 and completed in 1971), is in better condition than New York's. The subway was particularly difficult to retrofit because of the need to prevent a Soviet nuclear attack.😂

I'm from USA and have lived all over including NY. I still have friends that live there. Yes, many people still daily ride the subway and that's because they don't have a choice !! 😂😂 I don't ride it because i can afford not to but why should it be that way? Having a safe choice is a public tax payers rights. Many companies don't provide parking , average parking cost at least $50/day if you are lucky. And driving depending on the time can take you hours. Yes, many cities in the states have horrible transit system. Some better but not enough. And yes i can say that because i have been to every large city in every state in the USA multiple times. 😊😊 I pay alot of taxes but i'm so glad my government funds trillions of $$ to instigate and help coutries fight wars. NOT !!!!! Thank you for being honest and i can't argue with your facts. Anyone arguing about this just knows they look foolish.

The first time I rode the metro train in Los Angeles, I literally cried out, "Why is this so slow? Slower than Beijing 's number 13 lightrail train? " A boy and girl smiled and said nothing. I could ride my mountain bike and go faster than this thing.

@@artcorner1298 At least you were lucky getting to your destination safely. It's always a thought when you decide to travel on the public transit there.
