The golden age of British Boxing. Honeyghan, Bobby Neill, Mickey Duff, Jarvis Astaire and Tampa based trainer Jimmy Williams. I was there that night. One of the great nights.

That slowly building crescendo from the middle of the 3rd is one of the greatest experiences I've had watching boxing. The crowd noise builds as the relentless attack goes on until Vaca is down and then the pain etched into every facial crevice.

Huge fan of Lloyd honeyghan in the 80's. He fought longer than he should of mind. I was 12 years old when I saw this fight in 1988.

Looking back now, it's easy to appreciate how good Lloyd Honeyghan was. He had it all as a welterweight, speed, power, reflexes and the ability to take as well as administer a dig. He effectively destroyed Don Curry to become world champion in September 1986, and, would have beaten Vaca in the first fight had it not gone to a technical decision following an accidental clash of heads. I hear Lloyd's in quite a bad way now following a major car crash and is consequently confined to a wheel chair. I wish him all the very best and thank him for some wonderful (British) boxing memories - get well soon champ. Thanks for uploading.

I remember watching this on holiday (probably Norfolk), I was around 7 years old at the time. Honeyghan's hand damage and party animal life style ruined his career. One of my favourite British fighters.
