A excellent review as always sir. Very familiar to me is the Mokka X, my mother in law had three of these as mobility cars.

I have one in the same colour! Well, its a 17 plate and has nicer material upholstery but close enough! After 9 months and 14000 miles, I still like it. Very economical, comfy, easy access, good space for small person in their carseat in the back. Seems pretty well built. Had a big bill sorting out poor running (electrics!), but otherwise all good so far. I enjoyed your review and I would recommend a Mokka X!

This is the second Mokka I have tried, and the original Mokka I drove in 2022 was not a bad car at all, but this is an awful lot better, both inside and out. Electrics do seem to be common for failing in a lot of modern cars don't they? Thank you ever so much indeed for watching and commenting!

In the United States, these were sold as the Buick Encore and many times through the years they were Buick's top-selling vehicles. They are EVERWHERE and seem to be driven mostly by middle-aged women.

This is very true. Much more popular than the Chevy Trax derivative. I see so many in that metallic blue-gray silver that seems to be so popular with platinum blondes called Jane or Cathy, on their way to the gym. The Encore now replaced this year by the Envista, which I have yet to recognize if indeed I have seen one at all, it being quite a styling departure for Buick, and likely catering more to Chinese tastes, given the brand's immense popularity there and the fact the vehicle is made in that country.

Yes, they are also very popular over here. The Traxx version was sold only from 2013-5 and is incredibly rare.

Agreed Mr Lloyd, an easy car to get on with and a higher seat for people who are finding it difficult to get into and leave lower vehicles. While working, I had several Mokka models as hired cars. This one was well presented but I can't see why a dealer would take the time and trouble to fit new number plates only to fit them with unsightly, uncapped, self tapping screws. That is the sort of thing you expect with hire cars! The weird handbrake release in indeed awkward but the heated steering wheel option, on some Vauxhalls, is handy in the cold weather.

Well sir, we did enjoy the extra equipment in this higher specification Mokka X. Not sure about the dealer plates, it could just be a one off... The handbrake is weird in several Vauxhalls from the 2010s, the Zafira B was no exception either. Thank you again for watching and commenting!

Yes, the Ecosport was not a very well received car at all.

@@nls1809 , the Ecosport will probably have a Powershift automatic gearbox and an Ecoboost (Ecoboom) engine. Both are to be avoided. So many other choices apart from these two in the class, including the SsangYong Tivoli, MG ZS, Suzuki Vitara, Suzuki SX4 S-Cross, Honda HR-V, Renault Captur, etc, etc.....

Interesting review thank you, I was thinking of buying one of those Mokka X cars I like the styling, or a Renault Captur, I like automatic transmissions, I wonder how the Mokka X auto drives?

I actually have a review of an automatic Renault Captur, which is also on the Sensible Secondhand Reviews playlist. This a very crowded market segment, and there are many choices, so a lot of it comes down to personal preference, and how a car feels to drive.
