Spontaneous reaction to the songs / musical pieces "Day Twenty - Realization" from the album "Ayreon - The Human Equation"" in two versions (Lyrics video and live video ). This video presents, as well, my general impression of the album. Nine videos / nine weeks in the music of this exceptional artist.
According to Wikipedia, "Ayreon is a musical project by Dutch songwriter, singer, musician and record producer Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Ayreon's music is described as progressive rock, progressive metal and power metal sometimes combined with genres such as folk, electronica, experimental and classical music. The majority of Ayreon's albums are dubbed "rock operas" (or "metal operas") because the albums contain complex storylines featuring a host of characters, usually with each one being represented by a unique vocalist."

"The Dream Sequencer" ist the name of CD 1 from the previous Ayreon album (it is Universal Migrator Pt.1), and yes, it is about a computer which simulates dreams and emotions. The last words were kind of a reminiscence to this album... if you haven't heard "The Dream Sequencer" yet, I highly recommend it to you. It is a masterpiece of music and emotion, a journey through the history of mankind. You would love it! It is not as complex as Human Equation, but the music is sooooooo amazing, so beautiful!

I remember at the end a bubble with Arjen inside and the computer voice, it must have been after the curtain closing. I still remember all mý emotions afterwards. We had a drink close by and we met people from a country far away (don't remember which one) that had the same emotions. We recognised immediately the Ayreonauts from afar. It was such a great night.

The ending is related to other albums in the main storyline of Ayreon (most albums tell a single big sci-fi story). In special, this refers to the Dream Sequencer, a human-made device located on Mars, used by the Forever (an alien ancestral race) to understand human emotions.

The Electric Castle? That's a great choice. That's how I discovered Ayreon over 20 years ago. So that one might always be my favorite Ayreon album. Make sure you go for the remixed / remastered version or/and the live show. Ayreon has some other projects to dive in: Star One, Gentle Storm, Amberon, The Guilt Machine, Stream of Passion and his solo stuff. So a lot to choose from in the meantime 😉. I really enjoyed the trip through The Human Equation. Keep up the good work !

Arjen Lucassen is a musical genius .In to the electric castle and other tales ( bonus of several other projects) will be a feast to listen to . and watch. Your comment on genes of evolution and programing is quite interesting as genes are created from experiences. Making it easier for your desendants to adapt to the enviroment. Thank you for giving me a new perspective on evolution and genes.

You just got mentioned (and linked to) in Finnish national news media (YLE uutiset) in an article about how popular Nightwish reaction videos are in KZfaq. Tuomas Holopainen also mentioned there that he had been interested in your reaction to their song that deal with religion.

It is amazing that you mention Star Trek, as this is one of Arjen's great influences here, for the Alien race watching us and trying to understand. The Alien Race are our Ancestors, trying to re-understand the human races emotions, - since they have moved onto a existence devoid of emotion. The Alphans need to experience human emotions again, to regain their will to survive. It is not Data, but Q from Star Trek, whose role inspired Arjen, and he even has the actor, who played Q, do the Narration for the Live version of 'The Electric Castle', which I was excited to here you are doing later this year.

You will also be pleasantly surprised that in the ITEC live shows there will be another, even more awesome star trek comparison happening ;) btw, in ITEC live you will also see the guy who arranged for this cool live show to happen. The one and only, LUL (don't google that,) Joost van den Broek :). (hammond and keyboard player)

Sorry for the 3rd comment already, but I wanted to thank the user in the chat during the 18 and 19 analysis who recommended Xystus - Equilibrio rock opera to us. I already have that album, but I rewatched it last week due to his tip and totally enjoyed it. Thx again :). For rthose wondering it also features Simone Simons, George Oosthoek and Bob Wijtsma, who are also part of the ayreon family and sang/played during ITEC Live. And now I totally want to hear Michelle Splietelhof in an ayreon album. She has a fantastic voice. Think she is not a traditional metal/rock singer but DAMN she can sing.

Merci Guylain!! its been a great album journey, this album is not easy listening, but its a masterpiece if you really pay attetion i think, its works best for me seeing it like this with you, then just pick a random song from the album to listen to at a day, still there is a few of the tracks that can do so, but its not the songs i usaly pick from Arjen when i hand pick 2 or 3 songs at a day.. but the theatre in this is wow!! more Ayreon later you say, well i follow Arjen Lucassen and hes work tight, so for me thats cool.. and electric castle is brilliant to. Btw i heard Arjen say, that in the future Ayreon will go on stage again with a show, my guess is it will be in 2023..

Guylain, I discovered this album by watching your videos, only knowing days 11 and 16 from the Ayreon Universe show. I have to thank you for the efford you put in these videos and am looking forward to your videos on 'Into the Electric Castle. You might also enjoy the animated comic-book version of Transitus. A fan project that took the offical comic-book that came with the album and made an animated lyric-video from it. Unfortunately there are no live videos of those songs. Only the official music videos. The ending of The Human Equation was a pleasent surprise to me, but knowing a bit of the bigger context of the Ayreon Universe it makes total sense. Over all the album hit quite close to home sometimes. I had to be put in an artificial coma for a day because of a serious medical condition and can relate to a lot of the inner dialogue, even from the short time being knocked out and the following days that it took to get the medications out of my system. It is quite fascinating what the brain is capable of coming up with when on enough narcotics, pain medication and close to a sepsis. In most of my too many visits to several hospitals my 'Reason' and 'Passion', maybe even 'Pride' won. One time when I had do be in bed for almost a month it was definitely 'Agony' that won and I can totally relate to the line "Welcome to reality, be ready for the pain". Getting back on my feet after this long time in bed and three surguries was quite painful indeed. Over all i would say the album was almost therapeutic for me. Brought up quite a few emotions and even tears from time to time, but in a good way. And it made me respect Arjen even more. Before I ramble on for even longer, thank you again for this series and I am looking forward to the next Ayreon album you watch with us.

As much as he really like it that music enthousiast 'react' to his music, it is also his way of getting out there and get "promotion" for his music since no radio of MTV will play much of it. Because of KZfaqrs like yourself, people will hear it and maybe will listen to his official KZfaq channel, Spotify and even go out and buy the physical album. It's his way of making music, since he will not tour, what is simply impossible due to all the musicians and vocal performers. (Even when he is planning some concerts for 2023) As for these series, can't wait till the fall and your vision on the electric castle. It is refreshing, educational and mostly entertaining...

love all this journey with you. The Dream Sequencer is a machine created by our human anceestors when they lost the capacitiy to feel any emotion (lore). Some time after, this machine was reproduced by the last human colony in mars after the destruction on earth on 2084. the last voice is of one of those ancestors called the "Forever". this album is conected to the one called Into The Electric Castle and to the Dream Sequencer and the Flight of The Migrator.

Really enjoyed this journey Guylain. I have listened to this album since 2008 but i never followed the lyrics as i always played it in the car. Loser and this last track are my favorites. The drum work at the end sends the whole thing into another dimension. Ed Warby is just a fantastic drummer Not my favorite Ayreon album mainly because of the amount of vocals over shadowing the music . I know all Ayreon albums have massive amounts of vocal parts but this one doesn't flow too well for me. Spent the last few days listening to the 'Human migrator' albums. It would get my vote for the next Ayreon album you should cover. Ok i just heard you say the next one would be 'Into the electric castle' a fantastic album too.

This is totally unrelated to this video, but I just feel the need to come to tell you what I just read in Finnish media about Tuomas Holopainen's thoughts on KZfaq reaction scene. I don't know if someone else already told you this, so I'm sorry if I'm just repeating something you already know. I just copy here the parts that are mentioning you, (I was very exited when I realized that they were writing about your reaction videos, and that Tuomas himself mentioned especially your channel!). This is an automatic translation of the original text: "- I didn't know anything about such a scene. Perhaps the most special case is a Canadian monk(switch to another service), which goes through our entire production. He spends at least half an hour analyzing each song, Holopainen says." "Tuomas Holopainen is calm about Nightwish's KZfaq popularity. The composer-lyricist-keyboardist finds it nice that the band’s music and videos evoke emotion. However, he has not become a follower of the reaction videos. - I like to listen to music as it is meant: from beginning to end without interruptions, Holopainen says. - But I do understand that there is a certain power in the first reactions. I myself stayed for a moment to follow the thoughts of that Canadian monk. It was interesting to hear how he felt about our song about religion, he continues."

Hi, I loved watching you listen to this, I'm so glad that you recorded your journey through it and explained your lovely observations and insights throughout it. ^^ You've been the best! I'd like to make a humble passionate recommendation, oh I've been meaning to since you submitted this video two months ago... Will you please reconsider your plans to listen to The Source before 01011001? 01 is what we who followed them started with, I was a positively affected lifeform to 01 earlier in my life than The Source, I was actually maybe a little more cynical and harder to move when The Source was released, although I still loved it too. 01011001 came before it though, it came to the world without any of the context that The Source had added into it later. I've heard Arjen say that he changed his mind about certain parts of the Ayreon story between 01 and The Source, The Source changes things and fills in spaces. Which is okay, it's his story, but 01 was something else, and because that album hasn't been changed it's still possible for new listeners to hear it first and experience the same fantasy story that we did. ^^ Details are purposefully left open in 01 because specifications and characters would have just distracted from the story of what was happening. I think that if you listen to The Source first, you won't be able to appreciate everything that I love 01011001 for, such as all the personal conclusions that I came to about the Forever. That's all, thanks for doing these either way. ^^
