Local grandmother begs drivers to stop for school buses

Her plea comes after she says her grandchild was almost hit by a car passing a school bus.

They should add stop sticks to the driver's side of the bus that extend when the stop sign extends.

Heeeey , that's the idea i had. School buses should have retractable stop strips that slide out from underneath the bus and lay across the roadway on both sides then whenever the bus is ready to move again the strips retract back under.

One day in my hometown I saw 4 cars pass the same school bus! And they were 4 cars in a row! This habit of those drivers needs to be stopped! I don’t want to see children like me be hit by cars, they should arrest drivers who do it now a days because they should’ve seen videos like this by now!

NissanTruckz I get ya. Little kids need to be protected. But middle graders don’t need the same type of protection. Unless ya know if your one of those students that are crazy and run in the middle of the street. Those deserve to get plowed by a car.

I have 30 years with the Indiana State Police. People acting stupid around loaded school busses are whai I dislike the most. They will say that they didn't see the bus. How dumb is that..

These people who pass the buses stop signs just make me angry because all they care about is getting to wherever they were going. Like we are talking about children's lives and they don't care.

until a better way is found to stop the cars behind buses the drivers should be allowed to angle park the buses when letting kids off.

The bus driver is not allowed to block the other lane like that he’s breaking the law. If someone doesn’t see him they’re going to ram him. I get that we need cars to stop but bus drivers need to follow their laws too.

Allowed or not, I applaud the move. If people would just follow the law it wouldn’t have to be done, and it’s beyond sad that something like this does need to be done to get some people to stop putting children’s lives in danger.

It is not breaking the law the bus driver HAS to block the lanes in order for the children to exit safely. And if someone ever proceeds to “ram” the bus and for some odd reason CANNOT see a bright yellow easy to see school bus than they are insanely stupid and shouldn’t even be driving.

most people have to pay for school idiot and who would have know not killing someone is “bowing down” I don’t bow down to anyone so should I just go on a killing rampage?
