Location of the Cabin Air Filter Housing 2004 Ford F-150 Heritage

We have not been able to find a Ford F-150 Heritage that has a cabin air filter housing option but we wanted to show where the housing would be located if you did have a cabin air filter housing.

The model shown in this video is a 2004 Ford F-150 Heritage but installation is similar on the other models.

Not all Ford F-150 Heritage's came with the cabin air filter option. At this time we have not been able to find a Ford F-150 Heritage that has a cabin air filter housing option but we wanted to show where the housing would be located if you did have a cabin air filter housing.

Do you have a video for a 2001 Ford f-350 where you actually perform a cabin air filter change?

We have not been able to find one with the cabin air filter option. When we do this video will be taken down. Majority of these trucks did not come with the cabin air filter option.

So if my cabin air filter wasnt installed would it have something blocking it or would it just be empty

It would be empty like in the video if you do not have a cabin air filter housing.

So the specific vehicle used in this videowasnot equipt with a cabin air filter correct? So some did and some didn't have a cabin air filter in the same year truck?

You are correct! For this model it was a option that the dealer could chose to have or not have a cabin air filter installed.

Most of these early F-150's did not come from the manufacturer with a cabin filter housing already installed. You will need to check the location seen here, to determine if there is a housing in your specific vehicle.

I have one of these, the 2004 Heritage. I'm still planning to check and see if mine has a cabin air filter, just in case.

It was a dealer installed option so it is very rare to find one with the option. Good luck!

@@filterheads didn't get around to it today, but it was on the list! Lol owning a 2004 Heritage is quite the experience, to say the least. Basically just a "leftover" 2003 (10th generation body style), buying parts online (Ebay & Amazon) is fun; a person has to create a "fake" 2003 F150 to fool the sites into believing that the parts will fit! 🤣

@@billjackson9702hahaha faking a vehicle. Good to know, as I just bought the same truck myself. Have you started using ethanol free gas from now on to get rid of the vapor lock when starting the truck yet? I just switched over this past couple weeks and everything runs better. Go figure no corn in the gas will do that heh

The 2005 F-150 did not come with the cabin air filter option.

It does! It is hidden in the Hopes and Dreams outlet, near the button for rainbow exhaust.

I have 2000 F150 w/o the filter option. the slot where the filter would go is sealed over by plastic and has to be cut out for a filter to insert. 241000K with no filter. My next project though late. wonder how much crud has collected. A CAF should be standard. But I was not the original buyer.

Yeah if you do end up opening it up it would be good to get a shop vac to clean it out. A lot of trucks from the early 2000s did not come with the cabin air filter option and some still do not have this option.

Not all of them came with a cabin air filter option so its good to check and see it has a cabin air filter before buying a new one.

The 03 model did not come with the cabin air filter option.

For me was a 7 mm the first 3 bolts

It is a 5/16 socket.
