I got locked up and I loved it! ever wonder what its like to be a passenger on a prison coach? Well MCI invited me to the revealing of their brand new Inmate Security Transportation Vehicle. Not only did I get to experience what it was like behind bars as a passenger, I got to drive it as well.

As a retired bus supervisor and transit officer, I appreciate this video. (Back in the 80’s I had a hot rod Neoplan that got smoked by an old Crown Security coach going over the Grapevine). Thanks for the video. Crown was 35 foot with the 855, my Neoplan had the V8 Deutz with a 7 speed ZF

Hi James, This was Very Interesting & Thanks for Sharing your Experience on the MCI New IST Vehicle Bus!! My Brother was a Illinois State Trooper Officer in Joliet, Illinois & my Ex Husband was a Correctional Officer in Danville, Illinois, so I learned a lot thru them!! A Wonderful Video!!

Here in the UK the prisoner transport vehicles have proper cells and the prisoners cant see or talk to each other. They also only have small darkened windows.

Yes we did. Ate at a hot pot place called happy Lamb! Sooo good then the next day we went to a place called the Hook and Plow. That was some really good food!

How do they handle it when an inmate needs to use the bathroom while underway? Thank you officers and MCI for making these necessary buses. Stay safe.

It looks like all those dividers are movable (you can see rails along the roof)? If they are, that is a great design. Only thing I can imagine will be a nightmare is keeping the perspex clean with it mounted so close to the punched steel plates. And if it's not kept clean, the officers loose their visability of the inmates (we still call them that here!). Is the interior pressure washable? Great video and really interesting- thanks for sharing. Greetings from Spain 🍷

Well, I got a challenge for you, are you able to do donuts with a bus, would love to see that happen in any modern vehicles that got all the electronics to block this from happening.
