Why would the Big 12 give more give FSU and Clemson more money than the teams already in the Big 12. Doesn’t make any sense. It would cause dissension among the other teams

Creative financing! Have you ever heard of loyalty incentives (deferred income and deferred expense)? Yormark said at media days that the Big 12 has grown by 40% in the last two years. So, would you purchase a stock that has grown by 40% in the last two years with the prospect of greater growth in the future? This is not a hard question! Has the SEC or the Big 10 grown that fast? No! Think about the disruptive innovations of the Big 10 and ask yourself it that is an investment you would want to have a piece of the action in.

Arraignment’s have been made, if necessary to play as an independent for a time period. Once/if the trial begin’s Circuit Judge Cooper will not tarry long with this GOR/ACC Exit Case & when he make a Judgement it will Carry not only the weight of a Circuit Jude,, but also the weight of the Appellate Court. All that is left is the Florida State Supreme Court.

No matter how many times we go over this, it goes over your head. FSU and Clemson would get more money from the Big 12 than a rebuilt ACC or just staying in the ACC. The Big 12 is on a current media deal for a 12 team conference. You add FSU and Clemson that number drastically goes up for our new media rights deal in 2030-2031 by adding the 4 corner schools, FSU, and Clemson. People keep referring to our media deal, which is only 4m less than what the ACC had as a 14 team conference plus ND for non football sports. Adding the 4 corners alone, not to mention if FSU and Clemson do come to the Big 12, it will drastically raise that value, it's indisputable. You can hang on academics and prestige all you want, but the stats show over the past 25 years the Big 12 beats the ACC in all football metrics, outside of Clemson winning national titles. Clemson leaving the ACC and coming to the Big 12 is better for them, because they carried the ACC in football. They will get to play more across the board quality programs that are all bought in on football, and the CFP will greatly value an 18 team league with FSU and Clemson over the ACC, making it easier for both institutions to make it to the CFP. Academics and "prestige" will not give the ACC more money than what the new Big 12 brings in viewership and football product on the field. Not to mention since NIL and the portal changes the Big 12 is winning in basketball over the ACC. More tournament bids, and more national titles since NIL and portal changes. Facts are facts. Edit: Yes I'm aware OU and Texas had the most viewership in the Big 12, however Colorado alone almost had more views than OU and Texas combined last year.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't think that being "stuck" in the ACC's TV contract is the death sentence that people claim it is. At the time it was signed, it was considered a very good deal for the ACC schools. This was before the TV money for the SEC and Big Ten shot up into the stratosphere. But in reality, it only takes so much money to field championship programs. You can only pour so much money into facilities until you're just adding useless bling. You can only pay even the best coaches so much before even SEC & Big Ten schools with bottomless pockets decide that they're not worth THAT much. The schools at the top of the ACC already have enough money to do all the things they want to do, and then some. What FSU & Clemson are really chasing is clout. They know that the perception going forward is that the SEC & Big Ten will be the only two conferences that "matter."

a) I agree that at some point money ceases to have a material marginal effect; however, the fact that tentpoles are consolidating for peer revenue proves were aren't there yet. b) If CLEMSON and/or FSU take the walk of shame to the BIG12, there would be no more clout.

I think the B1G winds up doing something other than the ACC raid for their next expansion, and I think it involves Notre Dame and at least one SEC school. I can see a scenario where there’s a shuffle during which the SEC somewhat-unenthusiastically adds Clemson and FSU and the B1G adds an SEC school and ND.

@@tarheel7406 I just don’t believe it. I have a sneaking suspicion that the SEC has kind of willingly hamstrung itself into being “the regional conference,” while the B1G is the “national conference.” Maybe the SEC adds North Carolina or Virginia or Kansas but I don’t see them adding, say, Utah. So when it comes down to it, I see them accumulating all the decent teams south of, or around, the Mason Dixon and being content with it unless or until they get a new commissioner. So I think, ultimately, Clemson and FSU are inevitabilities.

The Big 12 invests in culture and then value growth. Does FSU and Clemson think they can compete with schools they don't know very well like Utah, BYU, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, or any of the other great schools of the Big 12. Besides, the Big 12 has more than just media rights to leverage in acquiring additional schools like entertainment revenues, international revenues, partnership revenues with the NFL, etc. Media Rights is a shrinking percentage of revenues because of our diversification of asset classes. Yes, Yormark thinks of the Big 12 as a portfolio company of school brands seeking to elevate school brands in "being the best version of themselves!"

ESPN, the Big 12's major media rights owner and the owner of the FBS playoffs is pulling the shots on this one and they want FSU, Clemson, Notre Dame, and Stanford in the Big 12. This is a huge investment for ESPN as a strategic advantage against the media partners of the Big 10 and SEC. ESPN still wants to be number one among media rights companies and right now they are seeing the 40% growth rate in the Big 12 over the last two years compared to the portfolio performance of the SEC and Big 10 growth rate and pushing for greater growth in the years to come with the Big 12. So, when Yormark says we are pushing to become number one, he is not kidding around.
