Hawks had a chance to win that game tho. 9 out of 10 times Luka will not go +70pts and mavs would’ve lost that game, I was watching that game as home team and I thought that game was a lost game, Luka had crazy night but he struggled couple games after that due to fatigue.

Don’t Blame the Rockets. It’s Luka. He recently broke the NBA record with 6, 30 pt triple doubles. He broke the record with 5, 35 pt triple doubles. Since All-Star break, Luka Dončić has averaged 35.2 points, 10.5 assists and 9.5 rebounds. 49.7% FG / 39.8% 3PT / 84.3% FT 7 triple-doubles. It wasn’t the Rockets. It’s just Luka.

That's so they can mess up what the Rockets are growing. People out here talking down on the Rockets, and fail to see the Rockets just lost to team that was at full strength. With Luka Ky, Gafford, and PJ, also Hardaway, that's full strength. They're at where they're supposed to be. Their still good.

Few people who actually watch the full games were claiming we play "slower" because ALP is on the floor. Again anyone who watches the games know how pace sped up mainly due to Amen being on the floor, not Sengun being out. Long term Amen will probably replace Dillon Brooks.

@@alicaksu2600 Yes it would make sense to build around Al P. But the way the roster is shaping out, it will be difficult to keep AL P and Amen Thomspon on the court at the same time. Hard to have 2 guys on offense that simply can't shoot. It allows 2 defenders to essentially pack the box. One of those two guys needs to develop an outside shot.

They did double-team and blitz Luka hard once he got over 40, but by then it was too late. However once he adjusted to it, you see that it was leading to open Three-Pointers for his teammates. Typically the best strategy for defending Luka is to let him cook, but don't give any space to his more offensively limited teammates, however it's easier said than done, especially with Kyrie out there too.

Wym, the Mavericks are just the better team, if Luka has a good night, no "game plan" will work. And if Luka has a bad night, you still have to deal with Kyrie. Nice try tho, JG has been playing well against some teams that may have underestimated the rockets.

My eyes were looking for Jalen, the basketball GOD(!) who, according to some, could alone save the team from embarrassment, but could not see him. The God, alas, did not deliver his favors on us. The first serious team they faced in the last 10 games was enough to take the "overjoy mask" off the faces. Then I looked for Alperen and said, "shit, he is injured!".. "If only he had not been, they could have had a chance to at least compete", I then added.

Crazy bit though is the two biggest Mavs, Lively & Gafford played significantly fewer minutes in this game. The lineup was their small ball version for a significant time. Hardy got minutes that usually go to them, especially Lively.

This fan base is honestly nearly as bad as the Warriors currently. You have the fans that are only Alpi fans who were waiting desperately for the TEAM to lose so they could slander a PLAYER as if the win-streak would last until the end of the season. If this is what winning is going to look like in H-Town take me back to the 20 win season where there was a stronger feeling of community. I will happily admit I'm a BIG Jalen fan and I've loved the winning but (this is gonna be crazy) I am equally a BIG Sengun fan because they are BOTH the franchise cornerstones of my favourite team. When this fanbase finally decides to win as a group rather than keep in-fighting it will be so much nicer. Some of y'all be acting like it was Jalen VS the Mavs 1 versus 5 like this sport isn't a team game. Anyone who watched every possession last night could tell you what the 3 issues were. Dallas and Luka couldn't miss despite good on ball defence from the rockets for the most part. The Mavs double-teamed/blitzed Jalen on every possession hence the 12 points (he still scored quite efficiently in the first half when the game wasn't out of reach). No one outside of Bari could hit a shot when Jalen passed out of the double-team accurately when he was doubled. What Rocket fans should take away from this game is how much BETTER the team will be when Alpi is back andf TOGETHER with Jalen. The dual-threat would've immeditaly prevented Dallas from doubling. How this pair will work is still a work in progress but their pick-and-roll was really starting to work at the start of the streak. I can forsee slowly transitioning Jalen to the PG so he gets those dribbles that get him in rhythm and running more offensive sets that involve both Alpi and Jalen in the corners where Alpi's scoring gravity can open up driving lanes for Jalen (this happened a couple times already). I still have hope that these two can co-exist just look at the Kings game pre-sengun injury where we didn't have Cam or Tari. At the root of it all is shooting as I'm sure all the Turkish fans will agree. Jalen is a good DRIBBLE shooter but not spot-up. Bari is consistent and so is Cam. Outside of those three and maybe Holiday/Bullock we can't shoot and it will remain an issue. Hopefully Amen will develop something and Fred is temporary. Dillon has been dissapointing as the season progressed but I remain positive like we all should be. We just won 11 games straight! That is a thing to celebrate! I have high-hopes for the next game in Minnesota, play-ins here we come.

It’s easy to see what happen. Rockets wins against terrible teams even OKC didn’t have SGA. All Mavs wins were against much better teams. They played as good as they could against a real team.

Honestly Dallas has better players right now, and when they are cooking and are motivated to defend hottest team in NBA - right there that was game over. No matter the plan and adjustments. Regarding double teaming Luka- Could Ime have been playing the long game? I didn’t see the game but… When we had Ralph and Hakeem we played the Lakers and refused to double team Kareem and he killed us When we ran into them in the playoffs we aggressively mixed in double teams and confused him

Poor coaching job by Ime tonight. One of the weakness of switching is that there are elite players that can hunt the switch and destroy you one on one. Luka is one of those players he a top 5 player in the NBA he can destroy you while playing that defense. He should have double him the moment he had that 20 plus first quarter. But even then the Mavs were killing us by making their threes. But yeah this loss was on Ime being stubborn and everyone else sucking expect for Jabari. To all the fans that say we play better without Sengun. This is what happens when you don’t have another offensive weapon on this team and Jalen is being doubled team

@@lv_lambo3162He has done a good job but that doesn’t mean he above getting criticized every now and then but even then even when it was too late to double Luka everyone else was making their threes but it is what it is on to the next game

@@jalenjohnson0339 I feel u, no one is above reproach/criticism I just felt the need to say that bc my fellow Mavs fans have been extremely critical of Jason Kidd. Mostly casuals that don’t understand all the intricacies that go into coaching. Now that we’re winning again they’re glazing ofc. It’s a dangerous game tho, that’s how good coaches get ran outta town. Knee jerk reactions from fans has never been good for any fanbase. Trust me I grew up in Philly, worst fans ever.

Ive been a fan of Luka since he came into the league and I saw this coming. The moment Dallad traded for Kyrie I knew they would be a problem going forward.

What a GREAT game! Anytime any so called sports teams in houston aka the armpit of Texas, loses and especially to our Mavericks, is just so sweet. The city of houston and all houston sports teams will ALWAYS be the red headed step sister of the city of Dallas and our sports teams.
