Think if Rockets want to go jumbo line up, Buzelis fits better than Sarr with Sengun & Jabari imo. Somewhat still brings the defensive versatility Sarr offers but you dont have position overlaps. Sarr & Jabari combo is a little clanky imo. Sengun, Jabari & Buzelis frontcourt looks more functional on both side of thw ball.. Buzelis showed he can be a good weakside shot blocker, a switchable defender, steady handles & theoretical passing plus shooting..

Donovan Clingan is the pick I want the most if not him Reed Sheppard but Clingan has expressed how he'd be able to play alongside Sengun, twin towers could do wonders for this team. JG has shown potential but it takes awhole szn pretty much for him to get into playing right, and as fans we don't have that type of time to waste watching a number 2 pick being mediocre and then balling the last month, Sengun has been way more successful in his first 3 years then JG has. I know people are going to be mad but its the truth we've all seen it, so if anyone is on the trading block it should be JG and Jabari but not for Bridges. I dont see very many people that could come in and mesh with the team we have currently even tho I do believe there is room for some improvement

One of the few upside players I would draft he can play the four and the five and he would perfectly fit next to Sengun. Sarr a project but he has a lot of upside to be a legit all star level player. However Sarr not falling out of the top 2. The rockets need to trade up to get him so yeah Sarr going to be a Hawk and Wizard but like you guys said crazier things has happened

Great pod guys. there is ABSOLUTLY no way this guy makes it pass the Wizards. even if he did fall to us I'm not sure we should take him. I still want to trade the pick or take Castle. Madison you won me over Lol. as for trading Jabari and the #3 pick? my view is why would we trade the #3 pick and Jabari for Jabari? the film I watch on this guy reminded me of Jabari.......NO THANKS. I realize it takes 2 to tango, but surely there is some team interested in the 3rd pick. I'm not against pairing Jabari and the 3rd pick for an upgrade at PF and I believe that is possible. we could also pair the pick with Dillion for an upgrade at SF. either way I prefer to move the pick even if its just future draft capital. the more I look at this draft the less i'm impressed. Castle is the safest bet out there IMO. Hey Jackson lets talk about some trade proposals please

Rockets are still three years away from contending. Would you trade Amen for Coulibaly and Hawkins? And Amen was a 4th pick. If Portland offers the 7th and 14fh picks, I would take it. Grab a backup point guard and defensive center. It is hard to upgrade as the asking price is too expensive. Didn’t work out with with Westbrook and the Rockets are still paying for it with the 12th pick this year. That would be sufficient to land Edey, whom the Rockets need to match up with Wemby.

Still think Jabari will be better in his prime. He already out rebounds and blocks better than Paolo. His shooting percentages are similar. He just is not shooting as much whereas, Paolo is the go to guy in Orlando.
@slickrick8046
@slickrick8046 6 сағат бұрын
@@greglyon1402 Stop the cap. Paolo has handles in his bag which puts him on an entirely different level than Jabari. But Paolo went #1 so the Rockets didn’t have a chance at him. The Rockets should be kicking themselves for passing up Murray, Sharpe, and a couple of others. If a redraft was done right now…Jabari would possibly fall out of the top 10.

Saar, Jabari, and Thompson would be an elite defensive unit. If Green can get into his game like he did for the month after Sengun went down, the team would be super scary. I could see Whitmore eventually playing SF and Thompson being the PG if he improves his PG play. And if that means trading Sengun, I would expect a massive haul for him.

It feels like shooting has always been an issue for this franchise. Even during the Harden years, it baffled me why they wouldn’t surround him with sharpshooters. Reed is an instant bucket that fits this team like a glove.

After watching the Mavs vs Wolves series, it goes to show that having offensively gifted players can beat a good defense any day. Wolves had one of the top defenses in the league and was getting 20 put on their head by Luka in one quarter. A player like Reed is rare. The high Iq with great efficient from deep while also being a pest in passing lanes. It’s hard not to like this kid. Plus if you watched a lot of rockets games last year our shooters got a lot of open looks, we just couldn’t get them to fall. With Reed that wouldn’t be a issue

If there is a draft that you don't mind not having a top pick.... Than this is the draft. This draft is so weak I wouldn't be surprise if most top 10 teams aren't looking to trade out considering how much you have to pay these early draft players. If I'm Brooklyn I trade Bridges asap but i am not giving up Phoenix picks at all. Houston is trading out of the 3rd spot none of these players are worth the price tag.

I get the downside comps that Madison is making but it should be noted that once you run any sort of stats model Sheppard has all his comps (including the upside once) blown out of the water, if we are just going by stats model he projects like an all-time great or something so even the optimist / stans for him are by default dialing it back a lot when we are projecting him. I think the Hirnch / Prichard type scenario is closer to the floor to be honest. With these sort of floor generalish type of guards it's hard to really be sure what the ceiling is because almost all historical great ones end up blowing their pre-draft projections so far out of the stratosphere that it's hard to even use those as reasonable comps, but it should again, generally be noted that a lot of time it is the small guards that don't have insane obvious athleticism that we actually miss the most in terms of potential ceilings. It should be once again noted, that more than anything else, Reed Sheppard basically broke stats models this year, any sort of stats based model projects him like a super star given the age + efficiency + reasonably high volume and complete game.

Reed is probably the best fit for the Rockets are three. He shoots exceptionally, he's a good athlete and plays very good defense. I'd like to take him a little lower down but he's a no-brainer in this draft if you have to keep the 3rd pick.

I looked up Donovan Mitchell's draft combine #'s....he was shorter than Reed Sheppard, and didn't have as high max vertical as Reed. I know there's a lot more to basketball than those stats, but I keep hearing how small he is, and his lack of athleticism. He's the best 3pt shooter, tied for the highest max vertical among players in this draft, and probably averaged more steals (2.5) than other prospects in this year's draft....I haven't looked up everybody, just the one's that are projected to go around top 10.

There is no shame in drafting for fit in a draft where picks 3 through 12 grade out so close. In fact it is the best thing to do if you can't trade back. I would still try to package the pick in a trade for a veteran but that looks unlikely. I also think everyone is under selling Sheppard's physicals. He's a good athlete.
