This is why State of Origin is awesome, two champions of the game playing in the same side together, playing against other champions of the game, it's an All-Star game. Bring back State of Origin! And up the Big V!

Victoria - Stephen SILVAGNI, Garry LYON, Tony LOCKETT (Whitten Medal), Gary ABLETT (C), Paul COUCH, David NEITZ, Gary O’DONNELL, Jim STYNES, Nathan BURKE, Anthony STEVENS, Wayne SCHWASS, Michael MANSFIELD, Duncan KELLAWAY, Stewart LOEWE, Damian MONKHORST, Wayne CAMPBELL, Mark BAYES, Garry HOCKING, Matthew KNIGHTS, Brad BOYD, Robert HARVEY, Ang CHRISTOU in my opinion one of if not the greatest Victorian team ever assembled, I was there that day when Teddy Whitten did his lap of honour, I cried like everyone else, my god what a forward line, the likes that’ll never be seen ever again, how blessed were we in the 80’s & 90’s with the talent, even Stephen Silvani who himself kicked 10 goals in a game on several occasions played a dynamic game at full back, Gary Lyon at centre half forward, Gary Hocking and Paul Couch and Wayne Schwass, the list of champs goes on, Rob Harvey, Jimmy Stynes, holy shit, there’s a team that’s win ya 10 premierships straight, the only game of footy I ever saw with my old man and I treasure it, thank you for reviving this memory, Lockett to Ablett, Ablett to Lockett, doesn’t get any better than that, yibbida yibbada that’s all folks

Good on you Bro. I remember these 70's 80's & 90's games. It sure was a different era then. As a Vic living in SA, did I stick it up em. I was in enemy territory & didn't care. I gave it to em. They hanged their heads in total defeat. I was a glorious time. Rock on Bro.

Of course they'd win 10 straight. It was three quarters of the all Australian team every time the big v played. Should've made it Vic vs the rest.

I was there that day and I forgot how great the football was. The match has rightfully become remembered for EJ’s lap of honor, but there was some terrific football on display as well. (Side note: it was cold AF that day.)

I really enjoyed the 2000s period of footy, and I loved all the way up until 2018. The only thing I can't stand about the game now is the over umpiring. It's slowing everything down and if we can find a way to reduce the amount of infringements then the game will have never been better.
