I was thinking that Greg's pronunciation of the Hebrew & Yiddish was surprisingly good until I remembered he grew up in New York and suddenly it made sense.

I grew up in Brooklyn. I'm not going to say I have an Israeli pronunciation. I do have a Brooklyn pronunciation

@@LoftyPursuits I'm not going to pretend my pronunciation is perfect either. My great-grandparents were ethnically Jewish so some of the vocabulary has always been a part of my family's history but I'm sure our pronunciation has drifted a lot from what would be spoken in Israel. Regardless, it sounded pretty good to me.

I bought this candy. It tastes like a doughnut. I've never had the actual dessert this candy was inspired by, but it taste like a candy trying to be a pastry. It tastes like a pastry trying to be a candy. So good

6:40 The letters on the dreidel actually have two version: dreidels inside Israel - Ness(miracle) Gadol(big), Haya(was), Po(here). dreidels outside of Israel - Ness(miracle) Gadol(big), Haya(was), Sham(there).

make sure your friends aren't keeping kosher before buying these for them tho! on the website it says they arent (since you need a whole kitchen to be dedicated kosher)

When you mentioned that he rules of put-and-take, I immediately thought “oh, that’s exactly like dreidel.” I should also mention that some dreidels have pe instead of shin. And the story you said as to why Jews used dreidels was used in the Rugrats Hannukah special. “What are you dumb Maccababies doing?” (Clearly planning something) “We’re playing with our dreidels.” “Yeah, we made it out of clay.”

If you put doughnuts in a blender, I can only assume you'd get doughnut soup?

@@sarahwatts7152 from experience; no. You get a mess. If you add in a liquid you might get a soup, but just the doughnut doesn't blend well. Either way, it's going to be sticky.

You mentioned letter candy. It would be cool for back to school time of year if you did "alphabet scoop." You could even have each letter flavored accordingly. A for apple, b banana, etc.

i would have done 4 batches with each different symbol then mixed them. then you could use the candy as a dreidel

Although I know it's quite expensive, we can ship to Israel. If you play with the shipping system. You may discover that it costs not much more to ship a bunch of bags than one. I think our minimum shipping fees for either half a kilogram or a full kilogram of candy.

Sad Maccabees was removed from the KJV Bible after the 1611 version. People unfamiliar with that story and Hanukkah are missing out on historical battles noted in biblical events.

I've been working on that, Ukrainian candy, or at least they're hard candy that they're known for is a yogurt-based hard candy. It's absolutely delicious and I'm having trouble actually getting it to harden. I've been experimenting off and on since this whole thing started. They're still making this candy and Lithuania. It is a fruit yogurt hard candy

@@Squieon I know. I keep kosher. I'm Jewish. I was wondering if their kitchen space was made kosher. These would've made a wonderful treat for family.

@@missmisaamane1 it's a fairly large undertaking to get this done. You have to get a rabbi, a Mashgiach to supervise occasionally, and do a complete deep clean between batches. And then you need a dairy and a meat kitchen, have to avoid certain foods, including insect based food colourings.
