Gotta do pre trips every day and give it a good going over every week or so. You don’t lose all the oil from a differential through a wheel seal and not know it
@AmateurLogger6 ай бұрын
Yeah it seemed kinda strange there wasn't more oil slung around underneath... Almost like that truck had done sat for awhile and they just pulled it out to make a video...

you got to do your pre trip

There wasn't any rear end oil because it had already slung it out 20K miles ago ! When you grenade a rear end like he did that wasn't done in 20 mile trips! What the heck! I know it's good to help folks out but your not getting paid to help people out that because of dumb decisions cost you money (way more money than necessary) because of their dumb decisions!

I did a similar thing on our old Scania when I was younger. It was on a crane mount, so I had to dig a ditch to get under the truck and do all the work from below. As a teenager you see everything as a challenge. I got it done in a day. Today I guess someone had to put a gun to my head to get it done 😂😅. It's hard work.

Their cost for a reman unit would be a hell of a lot more just for the part! I wouldn't think he could get a reman unit for $2100 the are probably going to jbbweld that same unit and flush it out fill it with gear olive and spray paint it and sell it back to him for $2100?😅

Not on here to say that would never happen but that couldve damn near been avoided by doing a walk around inspection and not just checking the fluids under the hood. Takes quite some time for gear oil to leak out. Love the videos!

After the money and work i would check my fluids a little more often. Good job doing the work himself though.

I believe there is a gauge you can put on the instrument panel to tell you how much heat is in your diffs and how much heat is in your gearbox and how much oil is in the diffs and the gearboxes there is a set up that you can do that

Wow. Short video with only a subcontract truck being tore apart. Being from Virginia, guess I expect to see more work and longer videos of production and getting the work done instead of mechanic work videos and such short videos each week

I'm guessing they do a lot more wrenching than logging. If you're here to see timber movin, you'll probably be disappointed. If you're here for laughs, there's plenty to be had

12:23 Justin I realize that this is just a business venture when it comes down to it...but where do you find these folks from brother? I feel for you I mean it's like one step forward and two steps back and it's over what I would call the dumbest, unexcuseable , ignorant problems? You parted ways with your driver because of his ignorance, yeah a very rookie mistake sliding off into the ditch, but that's where you STOP a real knowledgeable driver at that point wouldn't do 5K + of damage! A contractor that dosent do simple preventive maintenance to his equipment dosen't need to have a pile of crap screwing up your tome and money? You don't limp a tractor 20 miles and run a rear planetary so hot and crack the housing like that ! Again another warm but that SHOULDN'T have his ass in a seat and shouldn't be screwing up costing you money? Brother you are such a awesome fella in several tough business and have the business smarts to succeed but what you need is a right hand leader with the years of the trucking industry, to handle and screen your drivers (both company and contractors) and the authority to hire and terminate them! If he knows the business he will from the looks of your videos Save you a lot of money, downtime and headaches and especially stress!!! Good luck and much more and better success in 2024! I personally have 40 years in the transportation industry 3.7 million safe miles, A recipient of North Carolina Trucking Association driver of the month (September 2021) and North Carolina Trucking Association Road Team Captain 2023/2024 currently serving! You are welcome to look up my bio and reach out to my email or give me a call if you feel I can help you with anything, I'm no Bobby Goodson but I do know the transportation industry thus far ? Not all but evidently enough considering the opportunities that the North Carolina Trucking Association thinks ? I get to go around our gret state and talk to the motoring public about commercial vehicles and safety driving around then ! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family sir ! I hope you'll have a blessed 2024! markwillcox214@gmail.com

Hate to watch that. Ive been around trucks and heavy equipment for a long time. Stuff like this is preventable but it sucks. Nit only is he out of a week of work but that $2100 in parts plus install parts and consumables. Based on what they were working on and with i say that's a really big ding on the bottom line for these guys.
