Actually, I just wanted to see if it worked. And whether the cordless drill is strong enough, it is :) The spindle is only an M12, I think that this size should be designed Bigger. And in general, everything should be interpreted a little more massive. But it's just a prototype of a smal battery powerd Log splitter
This time it was just a small project because I have a lot to do privately at the moment.
Hope you get inspiered for some simular projects.
Thanks watching
Kind Regards Dirk

If you weld a piece of 50x50mm angle iron to the top of the blade it pops the pieces apart easier without having to run the blade half way down and back every time

Great device! An additive would be to have gear (or chain) to increase the torque and then the same principle can be applied to a bigger (still mobile though) splitter.

What a great design and execution. I had to watch this several times just because I liked the build. What welding set up were you using, especially liked that aspect of how you were able to quickly to the tacking and finish welds. I think that would be my only piece of gear missing for me to make one.

Have you seen the wood auger log splitting drill bit thing? It’s like a cone with a thread cut up it. I was thinking that would be great on an impact driver. Just act like your trying to drill a hole in the end grain until it splits.

At first glance, it is a wonderful product that is made at home, but it works. But... at the end, it is already noticeable how the dust falling from the firewood falls on the thread of the rod. This will very soon lead to the jamming of the tool even on such thin wood, which is easily pierced with an ax without it. And the biggest problem is those logs that are thick enough to cut with an ax in 1 blow. It is from 15-20 cm and above. You should not even try to put them in such a device, it will simply resist and burn if you try to do it in drilling mode.

Ansonsten immer weiter so 👍
@TheMetalist
@TheMetalist 2 жыл бұрын
