I salute Chris Wolf on this new vertical splitter. The Eastonmade version of this splitter has been static on its functions for too long with no major revisions. I hope Wolf Ridge sticks with the manual splitters for a long time before trying to build a processor. I think JAPA has got the market sewn up for small sized processors. While the 40C Eastonmade processor is nice, it is ~$100k on price. Which is quite expensive for a somewhat small size processor. The 405 JAPA is $62k, plus another $19k for a timber deck. It produces almost perfect firewood, requiring no re-splitting, even though it is not as fast as the 40C. The 405 JAPA is hard to beat at this price

Joe, Great video of The Hartville Hardware Open House event. Sheila was one happy New owner of that Wolfe Ridge Pro. Great interviews as well as showing all of the equipment. My 2 favorite parts were one where Chris gave you that Oak. And where Bob handed you that Cherry Log that really was Oak. Your facial expression was the best. Again thanks for Sharing! Definitely a store that i want to visit. The way it looks it would be a 2 day event because of its size. Have a great day Joe 👍

Interesting vid Joe✅. Wolfridge machines look really well engineered and manufactured. They seem to be ahead of the curve with their designs and the cycle time on the vertical splitter is super quick

We love Hartville during the big flea markets! For us - it's all about the people watching and and seeing the items and values that people give them. Jennifer usually limits my time actually inside the Deere and Stihl section of the hardware store. :)

I stopped by hartville hardware 2 years ago while I was at the Paul Bunyan show. I was there all day. Very impressive. Chris wolf builds a great product. I’ve purchased 3 horizonal splitters from him and 2 conveyors. Excellent customer service! Did you see that vertical splitter with the attached conveyor? That dude is headed to my house.I think wolferidge has me addicted.

Yes, that is a great hardware store! Been there once, or twice myself. My only disappointment was how little suspense was created on the giveaway. They could’ve made that a lot more fun by doing some thing like having people from the crowd come up and drawing 5 or 10 names then doing an elimination all the way down to the winner. Awesome footage, and machinery. I’m so excited that Wolfridge came out with a vertical!

This hardware store is on my bucket list to go checkout sometime. It would be best if I left my wallet at home though. The Wolf Ridge splitters seem to be very well designed for what works well for wood splitting. I think Sheila has the potential to be a future OWB employee of the month.

I am a big eastonmade fan and I think it's fair to say Andrew is typically ahead of the curve on splitter innovation however I have to hand it to Chris he definitely made improvements in the right places before the competition.

I wish I knew that was going on last weekend I would have went. The Paul Bunyan show is an hour south of me and hartville is 50 minutes north of me. We Bought my grandson a car up there about four years ago a car lot just outside of town.

The only wood splitter I want to buy soon is the Raptor wood splitter.. In my opinion it the best splitter on the market.. That pull back arm is spring loaded and solves a lot of the other companies problems plus I prefer the flat table compared to the V sharp cradle most of the other companies use

Far as wolf he needs to offer and electric start polan diesel as an option on the vertical.. I'd also like to see the foot control oriented a little different so you don't have to lift your foot as high for better foot ergonomics on a long day of running.

Honda GX engines are astonishing...I rent a SuperAxe WS3150 occasionally, from my local hire place. I think it has a GX160...? Starts first time, entry time. One pull, and bang, she's running...❤...👍🇦🇺

Looks like Chris Wolf’s vertical log splitter looked an awful lot like Easton Mades Axis Log Splitter 😡

Yeah, in the sense that it goes up and down. EastonMade, PowerSplit, and WolfRidge are the only vertical log splitters I can find in a few minutes with Google. And like any horizontal log splitter (of which there are dozens), there's going to be some basic similarities. An engine, a ram, a table, a foot control, and a log lift. The EastonMade is the nicest, but also the most costly at $13350 for an electric start with no conveyor. The Powersplit is $10500 for the non-self propelled version and with a log lift. The WolfRidge VS17 (no conveyor) is $9995, and seems to fit nicely in the middle, but being closer in quality and ruggedness to the EastonMade. I know the shipping cost to me for the WolfRidge is about $725, but I haven't checked on the other two. If I pulled the trigger on one right now, it'd definitely be the WolfRidge.
