Logan is a 2017 American superhero film starring Hugh Jackman as the titular character. It is the tenth film in the X-Men film series and the third and final installment in the Wolverine trilogy following X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013). The film, which takes inspiration from "Old Man Logan" by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, based in a bleak future, follows an aged Wolverine and an extremely ill Charles Xavier who defends a young mutant named Laura from the villainous Reavers led by Donald Pierce and Zander Rice. Principal photography began in Louisiana on May 2, 2016, and wrapped on August 13, 2016, in New Mexico. The locations used for Logan were mainly in Louisiana, New Mexico, and Mississippi.
Logan premiered at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival on February 17, 2017, and was theatrically released in the United States on March 3, 2017, in IMAX and standard formats. The film received critical acclaim, with praise going to its screenplay, acting (particularly that of Jackman, Stewart, and Keen), direction, action sequences, emotional depth, and departure from traditional superhero films. It became the best-reviewed film in the X-Men franchise, with many critics calling it one of the greatest superhero films ever made, and it was selected by the National Board of Review as one of the top ten films of 2017. It was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 90th Academy Awards, becoming the first live-action superhero film ever to be nominated for screenwriting. It grossed over $619 million worldwide and became the third-highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.

Wolverine don’t die there. Later in the comic book series, he gets his metal claws back, then survived long enough to kill the Hulk and his children. Hulk ate Wolverine. Wolverine’s body healed itself and Logan cleared his way from the inside out.

IMO they don't need to overcomplicate it. In Logan, he's aged, he's stressed and he's tired. Like a vampire, maybe he needs a dirt nap to regenerate and gain his abilities/strength to what they once were. I'd be fine with having his 'gifts' slowly bring his body to a stronger place, almost like it was in hibernation, cheers. Just don't PG it, go hard 'R' or you'll kill the sequel.

Dude, my thoughts exactly, with some differences of course, my vote, dude was asleep and if im not mistaken, had cancer (or some sickness) from the adimantium, his body took the time to adapt, and boom he woke up.

They should just run with all the characters from the end of Logan and do a "new x men". Keep it sweet n simple. Start with kids that can carry a movie franchise. But keep it the action like Logan.

X-men really got so much potential!! Wolverine needs to be replaced but unfortunatly I do not think that anyone can replace Hugh Jackman. He was born to play that role!🔥 Kind of the same with Heath Ledger as the Joker, you can’t top their performances…

@@lilimont2 Dougrey Scott was the first choice. He had more of a look than Hugh. Hugh was pretty back then. Dougrey I can picture as feral as can be. I think he was shorter and maybe wider too. Add some mass and he could have been a better looking Wolvie.

Logan did not die just because he was old and tired; he was dying from metal poisoning(And possibly there could still have been a lingering trace of poison left over from the parasitic injection he was hit with in "The Wolverine" as well); his regeneration ability has slowed down due to his old age and could not heal him properly; that is why he was easily killed by that doppelganger of his; because of his healing power problem.

Adamentium is supposed to be the hardest metal, so how is it breaking down and leeching into Logan's bloodstream? How is that possible?

@@dr.hugog.hackenbush9443; It is true enough that Iron is the one known metal that could rust and bend and would be the end of one who might have had implants made of the stuff, if there are such implants of that type of metal which we all know does not exist; but in the case of harder metals that are not degradable, metal poisoning in that sense could just mean a metal allergy, like copper for instance, some people might not know they maybe allergic to the copper until after they have the implant fixture put in; so in other words, Logan's Adamantium allergy was only kept at bay for a long time due to his healing factor; on the other hand, some of the metal might have seeped into his bloodstream during the grafting process. Bone grafting from what was mentioned in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", is a much more dangerous and imprecise science than skin-grafting or more risky than an organ implant surgery, it is not the same thing as just puting in an artificial limb to replace the bone limb, we also see in "X-Man Origins" that Bone Grafting does not replace the bone structure, just like fudge coating does not replace the flavor of the vanilla ice-cream that makes up the Dove Bar popsicle.

@@fluxmechanics; That is because titanium is not known to be a type of metal for people to be allergic to and people have been known to be allergic to copper or some type of steel(I am no doctor but you might be surprised at what you may find out), but since Adamantium is a fictional metal namesake for the real known gems called Adamantle, we would not fully know the real case going on with wolverine, only that his healing factor was ceasing to be what it used to have been for 200 or so years.

Logan wasn't the only classic mutant left alive that had died in the movie, Professor X had also died; I do not think Professor X had made a second anchor to his subconscious mind following the change in the time line resulting from the events of "Days of Future Past". The last time he transferred his consciousness into someone; it was in the mind of a brain cancer patient at the following end credits scene of "Last Stand" this would explain why we see him in his "explosive" episodes in "Logan".

I would have liked it more if it was set up like the comic book, and involved the Hulk brothers. Hell Wolverine can come back from anything. The Punisher blew Wolverine’s face and balls off and they grew back.

Well in Logan they said they’ve been adding mutant suppressant to the water and drinks. So it is possible that the suppressant purges from his body, then he begins to heal and revive.

Logan died because of long time poisoning from the Adamantium. In the end it was that which made his healing powers fail. I read somewhere that in the comics he was dug up again and Magneto removed the Adamantium from his bones, leading to him coming back to life, good as new. That is what they should do in a possible Logan 2. Perhaps a threat appears that only Logan can deal with, and Eric Lensherr (?) understanding this digs him up, and removes the Adamantium. There is also the old man Logan from another universe, that could be a possibility for a new movie.

I think Logan healing powers weren’t fully spent on Logan but slowed or delayed sort of speak , so if he was to come bk it was because he wasn’t fully dead .

Wakanda has a female, Wonder Woman, The Black Widow, Captain America, and Storm these are all of the super heroes we have now that are women. I would say that we accept women as super heroes. As a replacement for Logan? No. As a new super hero, yes. There will only be one Logan.

I think the most simple explanation is the most likely. After being buried, days, maybe weeks later, Wolverine heals and you see the stones fall off his body and he gets himself out of his "grave".

Wolvie can regereate fully from a few live cells in his body. He just needs time to do so. He has been buried & left for dead before. With no help from time travel or a multiverse.

A primary selling point is that Laura was so incredibly young and equally skilled. Fox or the MCU has lost a huge draw by allowing her to age too much - fast. She certainly can come back but the allure of her character just isn’t there anymore. Unless she’s the main hero or villain then I wouldn’t bother. Fox screwed up and effectively lost it all unless the story is written and it’s in production NOW. She should of been their only focus once Logan came out. What a clusterfuck it is now

Removing what he was killed with since if I am not mistaken once he got shot in the head with a bullet and it looked like he died because he couldn't heal but once the bullet was removed he healed. If not with nanites since he was made in a lab

i think there is a certain ore in the he was buried in that soaks up the infecting radiation allowing him to slowly regenerate until hes a full strength, remember the hulk pulled him apart and he came back also he regenerated from just a head that nick fury had in a glass jar,,, but thats just my thoughts keep up the good work////wolverine forever

So much over complication: The Essex Corp. was running around hunting Logan, Charles and Logan. In the process at some point during the fallout seen all around them the Essex Corp poisoned the water supply with an anti mutant gene or a blocker that limited or restricted mutants powers. Logan is literally drinking whiskey in every single scene of the movie. What does whiskey need and mostly made from and with? Water!!! So, given enough time in the dirt and no more whiskey and you’ve got regeneration occurring as it should be and Logan’s back😊. Your welcome!

If he needs to be ressurected they can just use a clone with amnesia, people are tired of the multiverse and time-travel retcon using it will turn away half the audience that might want to watch a new superhero movie. But just because he can be ressurected it doesn't mean he should be. Let Uncle Wolverine rest in peace instead of bringing him back for a reheated cash-grab sequel that will delute the comic character to 'modernize' him. Good or bad, Wolvy got his sendoff, don't cheapen it by bringing him back, focus on the rest of the X-men. Make an Iceman movie, or a Storm movie, (did you know, she and Black Panther was a thing? That Storm grew up as a thief and was later worshiped as a goddess for bringing rain to the desert? That at some points she lead the x-men as the second in command? Have her lead Wukanda after T-chala died. Make a mini tv show focusing on the origins of a different X-men each episode. Make a movie about the sister of Colossus, Magik who grew up in a demon dimension as a child. Wolverine is awesome, but you have written yourself into a corner and I don't want to see him ressurected by a newly-invented supercure serum or the revelation that the dead Wolverine is a Skrull, or something equally stupid. Make a damn movie about the Sentinel robots or Nighcrawler, or Bishop.

On another note; I strongly feel someone else should play, the role of M.C.U. Wolverine of Earth-616 Realm. I envision an actor in his, late twenties to 30years old of age, playing the role of LOGAN aka Wolverine. In addition I suggest that his height must be 5’10 to 5’11 tall, and the most flexible I can be is 6’0 tall, if the others can’t be found.

Call me chauvinistic but women superheroes leading in movies rarely work. The one exception was the 1st Wonder Woman movie with Gal Gadot. The fan-base is so male dominant.

It would have worked a lot better for audiences of either gender if those movies had focused more in the superhero aspect of the film and on presenting likeable characters people want to cheer for rather than tearing down men and shouting about politics. It also didn't help that the people behind those movies attacked the audience at every turn before the movies were out and told male viewers not to show for them.

If they follow his powers, he will simply regenerate slowly and become whole again if he is not injesting the food and water that was poison and killing his mutant powers and him being in a hole in the woods he is there hopefully they will work something on that line of him climbing out the grave he kills a few animals and realizes process food and water was stopping his healing power and it will go from there Almost like a mentally digressed wild wolverine pissed and wanting revenge

Why not let lgan have daughter let him teach her everything he experience threw life what he had learned from choices he made. Who knows jean had kid somewhere at some point put him I. I am no doctor but I do know what I am talking about, and just by observing things, I find that I am right about things that I would normally have no knowledge about, I might not be right all the time but somehow, I seem to be around eighty something percentage of being right, like somewhere between a B and A- scoring to my observational accuracy, I try to handle as best I can to the responsibility towards the possibility if I am wrong.😅
