My dad worked at Columbia Records NYC and every once in a while he would bring home Demo albums that he felt I may like. Well Dad hit it spot on with this album when i was in 8th grade. I have stuck with Loggins and Messina / Poco ever since. Thanks Dad. Dad passed 40 years ago this week.

Me too. Left a cute girlfriend to join the United States Marine Corps. So in love, yr later on Okinawa she sent me the dreaded Dear John Letter.

I loved these guys!! My best friend and I listened to them on the regular. Being teens we used the lyrics descriptively. For instance, this song was about our boyfriends. Angry eyes was usually used to describe a parent or a teacher. It's great to hear them, still love their music and remember...

This is CRAZY! a GREAT song like this should have a t least 8 million views. A classic little gem... my favorite Loggins and Messina song! I agree. They were great, love to return to 1972, and be 17 yrs old again. In high school dating the girls. Also, Mom & Dad would still be around.

Memories of an old girlfriend. We loved this song in April 1973. By August 1974, I was on Okinawa with the United States Marine Corps. By the October 1974, she mailed me the dreaded "Dear John Letter." At 64 yrs old, I still think of her, when I hear this song.

I have been going out of my mind trying to remember the name of this song! Last time I heard it was over forty years ago, so could not remember the words. I just happened to stumble on this by accident...so glad I did. I absolutely love this song. Thanks for posting this :)

Back when this was a hit in early 1973, I was almost 18 years old and my cute girlfriend LOVED ❤️ this song. So many great memories of her and high-school. Six months later I joined the United States Marine Corps.

Thanks for your service. Both my Dad and Stepdad were disabled vets, I have the upmost respect for those who serve. L&M were my very favorites back in the 70s. I love Jimmy’s song writing and his voice. Bless you. Let’s get through this pandemic.

@@judisilver thank you it was an honor to serve. Being in the military takes a toll on our bodies as far as disabled. My dad was a Korean War veteran, back injury in 1951. It bothered him his whole life. Semper Fi

I wanted to write Semper Fi, but didn’t know if that was proper coming from a civilian to a USMC vet. There’s not much live music around here in South Florida, so I’m spending more time on KZfaq than I ever have.

@@judisilver usually its a Marine thing to say Semper Fi. Its OK to say Semper Fi to a Marine BUT most Marines will ask if you was in the Marine Corps.

Lovely little 70's tune. and there are so many....i had several "Records' .. ( yes...round Vinyl discs that you'd put on a turntable...and play...and the fidelity was Stellar...not this 'squashed Digital shit now....) anyway... think i had "Full Sail' and "Best of Friends". This duo had so many killer songs.... takes me back.
