A note about the 2" board left at the bottom and this being a recommended minimum due to the board sagging in the middle. You mentioned that you don't necessarily need to have the last board clamped. How about taking a previously sawn board and placing it at the bottom, and getting more yield out of the log? The board at the bottom would act as a stiffener to eliminate the potential sag. I have the same set up and was wondering if anyone has had a problem with high level noise in built up area and is there any way to reduce noise level to other home owners , ie sound proof tent or shed .

When using a rip chain does it better is your lumber smooth

Using a bar and rip chain by Cannon of Canada increases the finish quality of the cut as the bar groove tolerance is tighter reducing chain wobbling and teeth are ground at 10⁰ as opposed to 35⁰ on a cross cut chain to the teeth aren't pulled into the wood sideways asmuch reducing wasted wood. I'd definitely say if you're spending the money on a mill a bar and rip chain is a definite must. I hope this helps

Have got MS 661C with the wrap handle, does it fit on the carrier? or will need to buy another chain saw?

My logosol M8 sawmill can be set to do either 1/4 inch clicks or 1/8 inch clicks. Can the F2 sawmill do that?

I bought my full size M8 sawmill about four years ago. I wish I would have waited for the F2 to come out before I bought my M8 sawmill. Can the F2 log clamps and chainsaw carriers be used on the older M8 model sawmill? Also, my M8 can have either 1/8 inch or 1/4 inch clicks. Can 1/8 inch clicks be used on the F2+?

What size bar are you using with that stihl 661? Also the guide arm for the bar, is it universal? Could I use the same arm for a 18" inch bar and a 24" as well? Or do you need to purchase the different lengths individually?
