This guy is the best on chainsaw milling. I made his endplates and use his first cut method and his cant set up which gets me, nice boards. This just up the game. Nice to see the level of production he is able to accomplish with the chain sawmill.

this was very informative Thank you so much. I am new and learning milling.... and always wanted to see how its done with a chain saw mill. :) Did you build your buildings outta green harvested logs?

The framing is graded lumber (building code requirement here in Ontario), the siding was all milled green.

Hello from France 1) I understand that you have an MS 880. Do you always think it is the most suitable for you or would you change to an MS661 for example 2) your Granberg ripping chain, is it 3/8 or .404 please?

I'm very happy with the 880, though lots of people are using the 661 as well, and I think it's a great choice. I started on .404 pitch, but when that bar wore out, I switched to 3/8"

I would think the sill and header for the windows should be cut thicker to last longer. Nice place though.

I agree about the sill, in fact on some of the later windows we did the sill from 2" lumber. The header is painted steel, unless we're looking at different things.

How do you sticker bevel boards?

Been meaning to do a video about that. I use short beveled stickers on each board, and then lay a standard sticker over the beveled stickers to get a full flat course. Sounds cumbersome, only takes a few extra seconds.

What's up with the audio in the various segments? Can barely hear it in some and it's really loud in others.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I was hoping this was a big audio improvement over my last milling video. I guess I need to listen more carefully next time because I thought it seemed ok!
