Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Lakhs Skip Voting In Nagaland, Demand Separate State

Yesterday the first phase of polling for the general elections took place. Total of 102 parliamentary seats went into polling. Pollings were held across 21 states and union territories. But, there was a state where some districts saw zero voter turnout. This was in the northeastern state Nagaland. A total of 6 districts in Nagaland saw no voter turnout. The reason for this is that the public from these 6 districts abstained from voting. They did this as a form of protest. The demand of the public in Nagaland is for a separate state. The public from these 6 districts abstained themselves from voting as a form of protest over this demand for a separate state.An organisation named Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) had urged people in six districts of the region to not vote in the elections as a form of protest. The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation has been demanding a separate state since 2010. This demand is for a state- Frontier Nagaland. ENPO comprises of seven They say that these 6 districts in eastern Nagaland have remained neglected even after obtaining statehood 60 years ago.

I think this person one who commented has a zero knowledge about the Nagaland politics. If ENPO vote then 99.99% NDPP pass bcoz of their abstain only there may be a chances of Congress winning. In the previous LS election also bcoz of ENPO only Tokheho Yepthomi won in the LS election. Highest number of vote came from ENPO area. So indirectly ENPO voted Congress, there was a double game to win the election by Congress.

People voluntarily didn't vote because their aspirations were left abandoned for several years by BJP let NDPP government.. This is election is unconditional because people didn't vote and so the election should be null and void.

If we go by this trend. Then there is caste party, regional party which has influence over some district. With their propoganda, they can manipulate them to make new state 😢 If new state being made, then benefit will be only to that regional, propoganda party because cm will be from that party. This party can easily win elections because of caste favouring them. It will increase corruption 😢. Like this, there would be 543 cm in india. This is not good for india. It's proved that new state formation just bring enormous opportunity of earning money to parties leading that movement and opposition parties there through corruption. Earlier they will have to win mandate of whole state, now they can do with new tiny region that is new state😢

Abstaining from voting is justified act of displeasure against the Jumla of BJP Govt at the centre. As much as Right to Vote is constitutional rights, so as Right Not to Vote. The issue of abstaining from voting arises due to the false promises of HM Amit Shah. He promised to signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoS) in r/o Frontier Naga Territory (FNT) before the announcement of election i.e election MCC came into force. The lackluster attitude of Govt at the Centre have angered the general masses of Eastern Nagaland. The separate statehood demand and the offer of FNT by Amit Shah is the aspiration of the people of Eastern Nagaland. Its a grassroot movement where it is expected to intensified after the General Election. No mainstream media or fact of the matter, Godimedia is highlighting the genuine demands of the people. We beg to seek the attention of independent mainstream media to support us.
