Devin Haney remained the undisputed lightweight champion with an unpopular unanimous decision victory over former pound-for-pound king and three-division champion Vasiliy Lomachenko in front of a sellout crowd of 14,436 fans at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night.
"Lomachenko is a future Hall of Famer. It was a blessing. He was my toughest opponent by far. He is very crafty, and we put on a great fight for the fans," Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) said after retaining the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine lightweight titles.
This was a nip-and-tuck affair. Haney used bodywork and his jab to ward off Lomachenko's brilliant footwork and clean punching. In the end, the judges saw it in favor of Haney with scores of 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113. By the sound of the heavily pro-Lomachenko crowd, it was the wrong decision.

Dev’s head was bouncing all over the place throughout this fight. At least, Teo only got his head bounced out during second half of the fight. I dont even care about the decisions, how the hell is a more natural 125 pounder beating these young guns up who outweigh him naturally by about 20-30 pounds!? Loma is an amazing fighter. I swear, let him fight anybody who is more his size and even at this age, i bet he breaks their face with accumulation sharp shooting.

12th rd Teo beat loma. 8-11 were tje best rnds for loma but teo still hit him those rnds too. The 11th rd was the best rd for loma but if you watch it again youll see Teo backed him up tje end of the round.

@@evenorderas9526 oh i’ve watched these fights plenty of time. Just as you saw Teo hitting Loma those rounds Loma won, Loma was also touching Teo while he ran the first 6 rounds. Idk how but he landed his own punches. Teo won, but not because he dominated the rounds. He won because Loma didnt want to take risks getting KO’d by a heavy hitter. Lets be real though, rounds Teo won were based on points not damage. But the round Loma won, complete and utter dominance, Teo’s head was dribbling like a basketball. And i like Teo next to Tank as favorites to watch in the game.

No. I totally disagree and will never jump on the Lomachenko sympathy train. Devin Haney won to the tune of 7-5. He controlled the first half of the fight and clearly took it away with his 12th round performance. Lomachenko lost, but I'd love to see him fight Tank, Shakur, and Frank Martin at 135. He's only 35 years old.

Seeing these highlights yo?!! I still see that same robbery yo and for real😮. Lomachenko was scoring points after points with enduring and prevailing shots that kept Haneys head getting pushed back and everything. Lomachenko is a beast yo and for real but I truthfully think and believe until this day that he got robbed from that fight for some reason because, that was lomachenkos fight all day if ever on a great boxing day for History. I'll still give lomachenko another opportunity to prove something different because with more rounds there could of definitely been a different decision at least I would say so. It's just that for someone to just lose a fight lomachenko, he was still beating the heck out of Haney with come back and stand up shots. Lomachenko is a warrior compared to Haney it seemed on that fight to. So I still consider it a robbery because to me lomachenko put in more shots then Haney did any giving day based on what was there. So whatever we can always see how it plays out.
