A walk across fields from Theydon Bois on the Central Line to the Theydon Bois earthwork. Then under the M11 and across the fields to Abridge across the River Roding. We progress through Lambourne and Lambourne End and into Hainault Forest, finishing at Chigwell Row.
Shot in 4K on a Panasonic GX80.

John, from Montreal, I watch your videos, from the oldest to the newest. I used to search youtube for videos of England, its countryside, history, archeology. I watched a lot of BBC documentaries. But not anymore: you beat them all.

thanks so much Dawn. This walk was so restorative, to finally feel the coming of Spring. The next video is a good one, surprisingly uplifting experience for me. I think I've finally decided on the 100th walk, one that ties lots of things together. Hopefully doing it at the weekend, weather permitting

Next time you're in Hainault Forest, head out towards Lambourne End, and see if you can track down the mighty Squire's Oak! It's huge! And then, just behind it, you can find an ancient London Borough boundary marker, which is quite cool to see.

The abandoned pub you passed after the Two Brewers was the Old Maypole Inn. It was a great place for a cooling ale after a cycle ride or walk through Hainault Forest

Aaaah the green. I miss it. Not very green here in dry old Colorado. I can almost smell the moss and dampness through the screen. Lovely walk - thank you.

Hello John, back into my family history area again.Thanks. Good to see St Mary and All Saints Church, Lambourne. This was the place I used to take my wife for a place of Solitude when depression took over, and also as a child, i used to cycle to see the Bluebells which were in the wood to left to the front of the Church. No mention of Lambourne Hall that is opposite the church ? The bridleway you took , the green lane is known as Featherbed Lane.
@JohnRogersWalks
@JohnRogersWalks 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that Roy. The church is so a peaceful spot, I can see why you sought it out. I did see Lambourne Hall on the map and can't remember why I didn't go there now - will have to return another time
