I had lone star off of the interstate in Baton Rouge la in I’m going to guess 1997 or 1998. I just remember the huge steak fries and the onion appetizer!

Lone star was my 2nd or 3rd job as a kid. I did the appetizers and desserts. Great job as a kid. Was probably 16-17

Here in PA, we used to have Lonestar Steakhouse in Lancaster ( Red Rose Commons Shopping Center) and I remember eating there one time in the late 90's as a first grader. All I remember is eating fries. I wish Lonestar was still around so I can try different foods.

I wanted to try it out but it was closed down a few years ago at Mount Pleasent Michigan. it was about 1 mile away from the casino and resort and across the street from the soaring eagle waterpark.

This was the best place. Their potato skins have never been beaten till this day. I had my preschool birthday here. There are two locations near Cherry Hill/Marlton NJ that are still abandoned

The first time I ate at a Lone Star Steakhouse.. was with my family when I was between the ages of 9 and 10 years old in either 1998 or 1999. The atmosphere was very nice.. it was warm and welcoming and fun. The customer service was also good.. and it was packed with people. The second time I went.. it was the same location and it was either 2001 or 2002. You would have thought you stepped into a totally different restaurant. The environment seemed cold and not very welcoming.. the customer service was still good.. but the food was overpriced and terrible. I felt bad.. because the reason my friends and I had went.. was because I raved about it from my previous experience. You could just tell the restaurant wasn't doing well.. it was sad.

I am from Texas and I remember we used to go to Lonestar in Illinois and California when we lived there and it felt like home. Sorry to see them go.

I would get the cajun steak or my favorite the Ribs and chicken combo. It came with a baked sweet potato, salad and some bomb honey butter rolls. Man I miss this place.

The former Westland Michigan Lone Star is still abandoned to this day, I believe it closed in 2006, Kroger bought the property shortly after it was abandoned and they started using that space for its training center for future employees after sometime they stopped using that space and it just sits abandoned now, Kroger still monitors the building daily and thank god all of its original interior is still intact.

Used to go to the one in Penrith, Australia, with my dad when I was young, after a day at the firing range. Loved the pork ribs, seasoned fries and steaks. Washed down with a budweiser in a frosty glass. Good memories.

@@WhatstheStory123 that's a shame. The ribs were long and thin, unlike any I've seen since. It's one of lifes cruelties when you remember amazing food but can't ever have it again 🤣

there is a very old Lone Star restaurant here in Ottawa thats still thriving.... Tho its not known as a steak house, yes they have steak but yhe must popular choice is their Fajitas texas style with home made tortillas bread still hot from the oven and home made nachos chips. The restaurant i about 150 years old.

I'm a Texan but (as a 30-yr-old) have lived most of my life, about 25 years, in Perth in Western Australia. I remember going to a 'Lone Star Steakhouse' when I was six years old and although I don't remember what meal I had (probably chicken nuggets) I *DO* remember being able to throw my peanut shells on the floor... no matter how many shells I had to throw away! That was a great experience. I'm now a cook, and very fussy about who grows my meat and vegetables. I'll sometimes drive more than 45 minutes to get a great Angus steak. Anyway.... I'm wondering if this whole "peanut allergy" thing struck the businesses hard? I know (from comedy stand-ups haha) that you can't even have a bag of peanuts on an airline if ONE of the passengers has a peanut allergy. Fair enough. I'm not having a go at those individuals at all. I just wonder if that 'novelty' of throwing peanut shells on the floor was a massive factor..... I've read reviews from around Australia saying that: "the fries were undercooked" or "my *rare* steak was medium" .... I can only say [as someone who's worked in the cooking/hospitality industry for 5 years] that it's sometimes hard to get everything just right for the customers especially if you have a lazy waiter who lets the steak sit there in the kitchen and rest for 4x the desired amount... and perhaps said steak comes out cold (too). Shame. It was a nice idea of a restaurant and an *actually nice* restaurant in the 90's!

As so,someone who goes to stake houses. Lone star is probably nothing compared to Texas road house, it’s mostly a stake house, but it’s packed that we wait for an hour, and sadly probably since there’s only 2 left (probably) it’s just dead, with no costumers and just leaves employees stay for hours doing nothing than cleaning, I feel bad for lone star 😢 great vid, you deserve more subs like Bright sun films!😊❤

It's not quite the same here in Perth (not the Bunbury one). You can't throw your peanut shells on the floor! Boooo! Hahah. I have fond memories from my days as a 6 or 7 year old :) Is the Bunbury one perhaps the only one left in WA?
