Metromedia Restaurant Group was filled with crooks at the top level management positions for years. When we went to file for unemployment after the company collapsed, the company could not find our third quarter payroll information from the previous year. Just think about that for a second lol... Somebody was skimming at the top of MRG management because they knew exactly what was about to happen. I hope whoever that was had a good time with the money... Hey... I aint mad atchya, I just hope that, whoever you are, that your life sucks now... As a side note; if a major corporation hands you a paycheck that you know is bad, cash it at Walmart. They are insured. Don't take it to your bank. Peace.

JM Fields also helped pioneer the durable goods/grocery combo setup with Pantry Pride. The two stores were attached and shoppers could enter one from the other without having to go outside.

The mall is now a warehouse facility. The new owners rebuilt a handful of the entrances to the anchor store spaces into semi truck docks. A local company - Rital Corporation, uses the old J.C. Penny store as warehouse space. I am not sure what other tenants are using the space at this time. The Sears space is still untouched and even bears the Sears signage.

I was once an employee at Macy’s in the mall. Here is the story. Wren’s was a local Springfield area department store, originally located in downtown Springfield back in the day (1950s and 1960s). Rike’s was a Dayton, Ohio based store chain that operated stores all over the Miami Valley (Dayton-Springfield metropolitan area). Rike’s would help form what became known as Federated Department Stores, a collection of department stores in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton. Federated eventually took over Wren’s. In the 1980s, Rike’s changed its name to Lazarus, as Federated put all of their stores under the Lazarus nameplate. At around the turn of this century, Federated Department Stores acquired Macy’s in New York. The company then changed all of its stores to Macy’s. Macy’s location in Upper Valley Mall was able to hold on until march of 2014, when it finally closed.

Born in 91 never had a chance to try the restaurants. Theres a old Ho Jos lodge in gainsville. It no longer bears the ho jo name but the current owners have kept the place up. Its nice to have a quaint motel to wake up to the sleepy florida morning sun.

As a teenager in the Dallas area, this is one of the places we went to quite a bit. Without hesitating, I always ordered the Three Amigos, which was 3 enchiladas, rice and beans: the plate with the most food, from what I could tell. Because as a teenager, I could freaking put it away lol These days I'm all about Chuy's, but there's always going to be a nostalgic soft spot for Don Pablos, just like everything else from the 90's.

I got a job at bennigans when my wife was pregnant with our first child. I worked every position including bartender... Sometimes all in the same day. My manager is literally loved me. One of them was gay and the funniest thing I remember him saying is "Curtis if you weren't straight I'd marry your ass" 😂😂😂. I was JUST about to be trained for management. Which was huge because my son was Just born. This was 2008. If you know the story of bennigan's and how they closed in 2008... Imagine for a second how it felt knowing you had a newborn baby and you were about to become a manager of a restaurant and going into work. But the doors are locked and there's a sign on the door that says this location has been closed... It f****** kills me the corporations do that to people without any warning. If I just had a baby, imagine how many of my co-workers were probably going through worse...

I used to work at a warehouse owned by Lechmere, a Massachusetts-based retail store. Montgomery Ward bought them out, kicked out the union workers at the warehouse, and changed the look and feel of Lechmere's and in two years, Lechmere closed down.

I’m 52 and enjoyed Burger Chef a lot with my parents in the 70’s. We had two in New Albany, Indiana where I grew up and still live today. They were converted to Hardee’s in 1982 and stayed around into the late 90s when they closed as I guess they weren’t doing too well. Great channel you have. Ive been enjoying it 👍🏻

I used to go to this mall many many times as a kid and young married guy in the 80s and early 90s. Then there was news that it wasn't very safe at the mall. My wife and I never went back. If you want to kill a mall bring in gangs of kids and make the patrons uncomfortable and it is all over. You can't blame Amazon for the demise of malls.

We went to Gauga Lake in 1999. It was not very good. The was no shade anywhere. People were passing out waiting in line for rides. The park employees were very rude, not at all happy to be working in an amusement park. No comparison to Kennywood Park near Pittsburgh. A very very nice place at the time.

They sold me a sprint home phone service to get a discount on what I was there to buy. AT&T called me later to return the service. I forgot about how annoying they were filling out the receipts and up sales. Stopped going there around 2004 when I needed many cables when I was changing to HD TV and surround sound. Prices were astronomical and everything they sold looked like it was for professional DJ equipment. I was just updating up my modest TV room. If I bought all the cables from Radio Shack, they would've cost more than the DVD player/recorder.

Does anybody else think it’s fucked up that companies acquire these failing businesses and then they don’t do anything to help the business and it files for bankruptcy and yet the shareholders still make a boatload of money somehow fucking bullshit. They’re literally just a bunch of scumbags circle jerking each other!
