Sad that there is an "industry" that creates a need to find homes for these dogs after they are used and discarded. Same for horses. Shame on humans. Glad he has a family now.

I couldn't agree more. They are sentient living Beings. Our brothers and sisters from Animal kingdom. Exploitation of animals is disgusting for their false Ego. Once I finished my ballet career I started rescuing and adopting those beautiful greyhounds from human greed. I have been doing it for 12 years now. At the moment I have 2 girl greyhounds. I also help with horses. Aum Namah Shivaya x 108.

If you have ever seen a greyhound run, you would know they are born to do it. Dogs don't live in regret or yesterday. A dogs life with a family is a great reward for a job amazingly done.

Oh they love to run, they don’t love to be run to death and discarded like a disposable object at the end of their racing career, that’s if they even survive being run to death, or end up shipped off to some Asian country when they’re past their use by date just to be killed, it’s f&$)(;g sick, the greyhound racing industry doesn’t give a f&$k about the animals, tell it like it is, it’s all about the money, so don’t tell me people in the industry are kind loving and caring towards the dogs, they only care about the money they can make for them 🤬

The most loving, intelligent, gentle, sweet dog I ever had was a "recycled racer" (greyhound). She loved carrots. Her name was Grace. I miss her beautiful soul every day.

So he was 11 when he was adopted?? That's heartbreaking. To see him happy, loved and making up for lost time is beautiful. Thank you. He's soaking up the love now ❤ I have a senior greyhound X (not quite as big as the ex racers but another long-legged-lovely with his own grey muzzle).

Overwhelmingly, Greyhounds are known for their social personalities, as well as their companionability, grace, and gentleness. They do well in apartments, and don’t require any more exercise than other dogs of the same size. Do note, however, that retired Greyhounds should not be allowed to roam off-leash in non-fenced areas, as their prey drive remains strong and they are hard to control once they have gone on the chase. Where (And How) to Adopt a Retired Greyhound If all of this sounds like a Greyhound is right for you, then there are many organizations you can turn to in order to adopt one. These include national organizations, such as: The Greyhound Racing Project Grey2K USA Worldwide Heartland Greyhound Adoption Greyhound Pets of America For a list of Greyhound adoption organizations by state, visit the National Greyhound Association’s adoption page. The adoption process varies by organization. But unlike adopting retired TSA dogs or retired police dogs, there are many adoptable Greyhounds to go around, and you likely won’t have to face a years-long waiting list.

Such a handsome and sweet senior, and though my dogs weren't GHs, Flash reminds me of my first two (black w/grey muzzle and those smiles). Thanks for adopting him from whatever hard life he had before, giving him beach days, a comfortable home w/lots of love - and toys.😊💕🐾🍀☮️

I’m so glad you gave Flash the furever loving home he deserves. When my best friend was a child, her family would take in Greyhounds that were being abandoned at the local race track. She said the dogs would be left tied to a post or in a kennel behind the track if they weren’t good enough at racing. Her family ended up rescuing more than 20 abandoned Greyhounds through the years. They are absolutely lovely creatures that can be so sweet & very loyal. 🐾❤️🐾
