Mirepoix in French cooking is referred to as the 'trinity' and is onion, celery and carrots. In Creole and Cajun cuisine, the 'Holy Trinity' is onion, celery and green bell peppers.

You lovebirds are so cute. I was so touched with the start of your Vlog at sunset when you guys kissed and Lisa gazed into your eyes. I can feel her love for you, Bill. The best thing about Istanbul (imho only) is there are CATS EVERYWHERE! They'll walk inside restaurants, sleep on car roofs, most random places. There are even vehicular cat warning signs. Turkey is no kill, and take care of all the cats and dogs.

Shoreline Village seems similar to Seaport Village in San Diego. Jaycation has done several videos down there, his home base, but unfortunately one of my favorite restaurants _Harbor House_ didn't survive the pandemic mess! The poke nachos look like the Asian Nachos at Luxe Cafe with the fried wontons instead of chips. The gumbo looked really hearty and when Bill first mentioned red beans and rice, I thought of my grandfather and cornbread! Never been to Istanbul, I just know it's not Constantinople 😖🤣 The chimichanga platter looked delicious and filling too! Another great video B & L!

We haven't been to Seaport Village in years, we may have to do a revisit. Sorry to hear about your favorite restaurant. Ours was K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen in New Orleans, so sad it closed.

I went bike-riding through that area with a few people I know. It is a nice area of Long Beach. I have not eaten at any of the restaurants there, but I would really like to change that after watching this video.

We use the DJI wireless mics. They are an improvement over our last wireless mic setup (Saramonic Blink500). The people of Maui are in our thoughts as well.

I think I’m gonna have to put on some red beans and rice now. Everything looked good. Those nachos looked very tempting and at 1/2 price not bad. That is a good place to visit the night before a cruise. I was disappointed you passed on the hat 😅

I remember when that spirit cruise use to be in San Pedro port o call,I use to work for the harbor cruise back on 2000 ,wow it's been a moment ..and them prices went sky high 90$now.

Ah ! You’re in my hood! I love going down to Shoreline for happy hour or dinner. We love going to Parker’s at sunset for oysters with a great view or Tequila Jacks! Next time you’re in LB you both should try Liv’s on 2nd street. Superb seafood and small plates in an intimate setting.

Highly recommend aquarium if the pacific and a harbor cruise. The cruise port is not only carnival. We took a princess cruise from the port. Mexican Rivera in January. Fabulous whale activity.

Yes, the aquarium and a harbor cruise are fun things to do in Long Beach. Princess (and RCCL) leave out of the Port of LA in San Pedro.

Wow, never knew about this place. Definitely a great place to visit, especially before or after a cruise. I'd do it after the cruise so I could do some shopping! The Holy Trinity of cajun cooking is onions, celery and bell peppers. Personally I think garlic should be in that too but then it wouldn't be a trinity. 😂 Can't wait to see your next adventure. Really like your local day visits.

I’ve been to this lb shoreline before. Yardhouse is expensive. Happy hour should be called hoppy hour. Ahi nachos time . Chicken app looks good. The seafood mix looks good. The Mexican sampler looks good.

Glad to see you enjoying my old stomping grounds of Long Beach. Worked at the Breakers Hotel after graduating from Univ of HI back in the 80s - yeah I'm old. Guess the place is closed now and "haunted"? Anyway, love Shoreline Village. That Turkish store looked so inviting and beautiful. Glad you found some treasures to take home.
