I had long COVID, so I know how much it can change your life. For this reason, I wanted to share some of the things I learned.
In this video, I will discuss the connection between mast cells and long COVID. I will also cover the topics listed below:
1. My experiences/client experiences/studies related to long COVID and mast cell activation
2. COVID can alter mast cell function, so they release too much histamine and other inflammatory chemicals
3. COVID has been shown to upregulate existing pathogens, which then triggers mast cell activation further
4. COVID has been shown to disrupt the gut microbiome, specifically knocking out the immune modulating bacteria like bifidobacterium
5. Shift in immune function leads to increased sensitivity to foods/environmental triggers/synthetic irritants
6. On going reactions to foods/environment/etc. perpetuate the cascade of inflammatory molecules, mast cell population increases over time which furthers severity of symptoms
7. Mast cells are the driving factor behind the symptoms, if you can control the mast cells, you can reduce symptom severity
8. Treat long COVID like mast cell activation for optimal chance of recovery, must identify what causes flares or you will have a tough time beating it
9. Summary of key points related to mast cell activation/long COVID

Thank you. Suffering horribly with mast cell induced symptoms fuelled by Lyme, hadn't fully realised the needs to eliminate all synthetic foods/vitamins until this video.. very grateful

Thank you for this info. I’ve been suffering from long Covid for over 1.5 years now. Loss of taste and smell, brain fog and now I have eczema for the first time in my life at 45. I’ve read and watch lots of studies on long Covid and healing through natural remedies, but this is the first I’ve heard of mast cells. It makes sense, I’ve known it to likely be an inflammation problem, but just can’t find a way to rid of it. You make it sound so easy but I have no idea how to figure out which synthetics are my triggers. I’m off all prescription meds but take a gajillion supplements. I took a month or two break to see if anything changed and I felt my altered taste and smell actually backslid so I started again, but always trying something new. A parasite cleanse is my next plan of action. I’m at a loss and so overwhelmed at this point. Can you tell me where to start on figuring out my triggers? Thanks.

I hear Ivermectin works well.

Mixed reviews, it affects kidney function, so I would be careful, I’ve seen a lot of people go backwards after taking it

Take a look at my video, called the observation-based diet that goes into much more detail about eliminating triggers, I also offer a 15 minute free phone consultation. If you have interest get in touch via the info on my website. Thanks.

Thank you for this information. I had manageable multiple sclerosis before getting Covid in 2020 and since I've been essentially bedridden. Do you have any opinion on extended fasting and autophagy helping with long covid/mast cells?
@endsickness

Intermittent fasting can be useful in my opinion, but if you’re already weak extended fasting may not be a good fit

Most important thing for the mast cells is to identify hidden triggers in food, supplements, environment, lifestyle. Watch my video on the observation-based diet. Thanks for your comment.

What do you think is best to help? As far as supplements for gut and nervous system? Thanks

Look up my video on how I beat mast cell activation, I go over a lot of supplements there- the first thing I would do is go through all the supplements you are taking to make sure none of them are triggering you, taking them one at a time on an empty stomach to make sure they’re not making anything worse

Isnt it better to have activated mast cells to fight with covid? I thought people with mast cells could do better with covid. Great content thanks for sharing

When you are fighting the initial stages of the infection, yes, you are correct, but long COVID is different, the mast cells become dysfunctional and secrete abnormal amount of histamine… it’s hard to control symptoms if not targeting mast cells since they are the origin of these inflammatory molecules
