The M5 motorway runs for 166 miles (267km) from the M6 at Birmingham, to the A30/A38 junction at Exeter, an important link joining the West Midlands to the South West of England and a popular holiday route to Devon and Cornwall. It's the only single-digit road in Great Britain that doesn't radiate from either London or Edinburgh. The route largely replaced the overloaded A38, opening in stages between 1962 and 1977.
This video shows a largely northbound route along the M5 motorway, from junction 29 for the A30 at Exeter, to junction 23 for the A39 at Puriton, just north of Bridgwater. It runs for approximately 40miles/65km
