I don't understand is is boiled rice water or uncooked soaked rice water
@leeluv965 жыл бұрын
Both. They soak the rice as a part of the cleansing process. Then they cook the rice as usual, set it aside until it ferments, then use it every three days. The rice milk is applied to the hair and scalp and allowed to sit for ten to fifteen minutes. It is then washed off with spring water from the brook. They do not use shampoo. The hair is then thoroughly combed. They comb their hair often to stimulate the blood under the scalp. Some believe this is why they do not grey. The married women wear their hair out, using the ponytail of hair that was cut and presented to their grandmothers when they turned 18 as a hair piece to accentuate their elaborate hair wrap. The unmarried women wear a simple wrap style (using no additional hair) that is concealed under a head wrap. Traditionally no one should see the unmarried woman's hair until marriage. This does not include family such as fathers or brothers etc...married women wear an embroidered jacket of black and red with two trigger patches on the back. Unmarried women wear woven red jackets with details of crabs etc... married women wear thick heavy gold earrings. Unmarried women wear thinner gold earrings.

@@leeluv96 Hello How do they preper the rice water? they also add orange skin i wish i knew exactly how they make it... i have hair problems.. i tried many things..but nathing works
@leeluv965 жыл бұрын
@@bruriashilon8230 There are videos out that show the preparation process. The wash the rice by soaking it in water. They discard the soaking water then they cook the rice with fresh water. I'm sure the rice is not wasted, as more than likely they eat it, but the cooked rice water is set aside for a few days to ferment, sometimes with orange rind, in a tightly sealed container. After that the rice water (or rice milk as it s sometimes called) is applied to the hair just like conditioner. It is allow to set on the hair then it is rinsed off. They use natural flowing water from their local streams to wash and rinse their hair. But of course we'd likely use tap water or well water. In any event, check your stress levels, check your overall health, and look into your local water quality. If your local tap water is considered "hard water" that could contribute to hair problems. Some people buy distilled water from the store and use it as a last rinse if they have hard tap water. But I'd say keeping the ends trimmed, washing and conditioning regularly with a deep condition quarterly or as needed, not pulling the hair too tightly, and being gental when combing/brushing, are all common proven hair care techniques. But maybe the most important thing to do is to conquer stress and focus on internal overall health. If your body is healthy on the inside it will show on your skin hair and nails. ❤

It’s a coming of age ceremony and marks her womanhood. When she becomes a mother, there is another ceremony in which that hair is added back to hers and put into several large buns as a celebration of her motherhood. I think it’s beautiful.

@SuchaCaligrrl6 жыл бұрын
Man they butchered her hair, it's time to invest in a good pair of sharp scissors, and let a person with a straight hand do the cutting... I mean if this is going to be the last time you will ever cut your hair atleast do a decent job. After all this is the hair she will have to live with for the rest of her life... regardless if it's only hair and that it will grow back.
@beegee47915 жыл бұрын
SuchaCaligrrl they’ve been cutting it like that for centuries. Why should an outsider feel like he or she needs to teach them that their age-long custom has been wrong all along? Their fore-fathers and mothers have been fine and I’m sure they will continue to be.
