Gday Shane. It would be very interesting if you show me how to stretch the achilles on youtube one day. I try to copy your style but cannot crouch down as you do so everyday stretch I think necessary. Cheers.

Shane, you definitely convinced me. I ordered the Mossel today. I own a YOW snapper which I find fantastic on the flat but which is quite frightening in the bowl, in particular in the drop in. I hope to find more stability in the bowl but keeping hard transition with the angle of the truck. Thank you for this review

Hi Shaine, thank you for your great videos 👌 Would love to see your opinion about your favorite builds (trucks, wheels, length). I'm still searching for the best hybrid truck, that allows easy and fast pumping but also a good range for carving. Something between C7 and waterborne.

Is the feeling similar to the waterborne adapter which is also a bushing based system ?

it seems that the deck is not high enough, the front wheels scratched the bottom of the deck, right?

Hi Shane. The board is 17.50" wheelbase, but I'm concerned about the actual wheelbase of this board, as the axle is set back from the base. At 4:23 you can see what happens when your friend puts his foot in front of the axle, because he probably needs a slightly larger wheelbase (it looks like your stand is a bit narrower, and maybe that's why you're doing so well). For those of us who have a wider stand, is there a flat spot at the nose of the board to drill some holes and increase the wheelbase a bit? Thanks, great review!

Shane you are truly unparalleled in pure artistic flow and expression. When you said the board sticks to your feet, I thought for you, any board you are on is an extension of your body! One question, as for trucks, would you prefer these over the Grasp or just too different to compare? Thanks for the inspiration!
@shanelai2515
@shanelai2515 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your words! Yeah too different to compare! Both are amazing. It might be easier to grind on the grasp though. But you can't beat a swing arm system for flow

The mellow kick apears like it would kick turn a bit less as twitchy and drive easier snaps n slides ...

I thought it would be less twitchy and more chill/mellow too. But the board is super well balanced and everything works in harmony

the deck is almost like a YOW - Snappers or La Santa. Very close to the same. Probably closer to a Snappers. Don't know why they made this line when they already had YOW. These are like the cheaper YOW's with their cheaper Meraki-ish truck. Weird that they would come out with these. I'm happy with my 2022 YOW- Arica
@rmnetxgn1156
@rmnetxgn1156 Жыл бұрын
Probably they wanted to offer a cheaper board to the market. The price difference is quite a lot vs the YOWs, and they seem to perform really well.

Hey Shane, Thanks for fulfilling my request. I really enjoyed the review. What I like about your reviews is that you have your friends and acquaintances test and comment on their experiences. I also like the fact that you take the board and trucks apart. Do the trucks bushings come greased? What is the axel to axel distance? I know the wheelbase is 17.5 from inner bolt to inner bolt. Thanks again. Nice riding by the way🙂🏄.
@theaustralianhulk
@theaustralianhulk Жыл бұрын
When he had them set up in the video side by side to the Meraki, looks like it sits further back from the bolt holes even more, so I would say you should account for at least an inch maybe 2 in loss axle to axle than say a c7 or CX style truck that sit closer to a traditional truck. For example, I didn’t realize this when I got the Meraki and got the 17 wb which is what I like on Carver. I had to drill new holes in the Yow deck to extend the wb to 18. Wasn’t terrible the way it was because I think you also have to account for board design, concave, wheels, etc. The Meraki was pretty good as is, but just a tad better extended. But good question, hopefully Shane will give an actual measurement.
@shanelai2515
@shanelai2515 Жыл бұрын
Yes the half moon bushings are grease. No squeak. Just needs some soap shaving in the pivot cups to stop the squeak there. Wb from inner bolts is 17.5" Wb A2A is 18"

Hi Shane! First, let me tell you that you are the only guy I know that looks good in overalls 😉If you had to choose your perfect surfskate, what deck, trucks and wheels would you choose? Thanks, love your reviews! Regards from Portugal 🇵🇹

Re: overalls. Haha thanks ☺️ Not sure if I can say perfect, but at the moment this is close to what I consider better: Whitetail whaleshark deck. Lean Genesis truck system. Slime balls front wheels, surfskatelove 81a back wheels. Bones hardcore bushings (soft) in front truck/ bones hardcore bushings (hard) in back truck. That's my exact setup at the moment

As much range of motion as the meraki, very light and amazing in bowl. Less stable than than the CX. But for me all the benefits outweigh the instability

Hi Shane, do you know if this new truck type can get looser with time? My Meraki feels way looser now that has around 8 months of use, I've always thought it's the spring lifetime, but this one doesn't seem to have one.

I've ridden it heavily for a month now, they work as new. And yes, that's what I like about the lean Genesis truck, the bushings can't break. Besides they are so light.

@@dystopia2386 maybe. But the bushings are squeezed, not twisted, so it is far less likely to break. But yeah hopefully in the near future they might release different durometers for them
