Thanks for this informative video going into the minute mechanics of achieving accurate shooting. I'm just starting out with absolutely no idea about techniques etc - just shooting freestyle and hope for the best. I like the approach....... shooting paper really does help with adjusting your aiming points and the right ammo to bands.... it's all a learning curve

I'm a newbie and have been having trouble with accuracy and shooting longer distances. I also started to tension my back and found it helped. lol. I wish I had seen this video two weeks back when I first started out.

You could try switching to a butterfly style to get a flatter trajectory. Advantages: - Faster ammo - Less draw weight - More fun (personally) Disadvantages: - More inconsistent at first - Higher chance of hitting yourself (in the beginning) Overall, if you wanna try it, get a thick glove, preferrably a slingshot glove with steel inlays. Worst that can happen at that point is a "Cheek-Kiss", but those usually are not horrible. Good luck shooting and improving.

Very interesting, I've made a dramatic change to shooting with both eyes open,very effective at short range but I've yet to try the big 20 mts,but I know alot of top hunters do!

Got the GZK Titanium G-Shot TTF, Catch box and some goodies this morning. The G-Shot is very comfy to hold and fun to shoot, the pinch grip is really well made with G-10 patch, I like it better than the Hammer Pro Mini, it is easy to check the level I just could not put it down, it is light but well balanced and accurate. The catch box was also amazing ! the material is neither nor tarp or canvas like stuff, it is stretchy Spandex, inside hangs two screens of Spandex to stop the ammos and muffle the noise , frame is built of supper strong 1/2 in PVC tubing. Shipping was fast, got is in 5 days, Have a nice day Mark!

Very informative video Mark, thanks! Been shooting longer distance myself and its not easy. We are lucky our backyards have enough distance to do this, lol! Have a box of 9.5mm's I've been trying to use up but the drop off is extreme with them. Those 25/20mm bands you are using look huge on camera!!!! Draw weight must be crazy........

I'm new to shooting slingshots, video was great. Nice shooting! I need a lot more practice to even hit my target at 10m. I frame hit mine so many times the first time i got it. Couldn't figure out why, got frustrated then got on u tube university caught yours and others videos. Stopped frame shots, started hitting target, practice, practice, practice. Thanks! Maybe, you can put a bell behind the bulls eye. Keep the cardboard in front of the bell, to keep the ball from bouncing out of the box when it hits the bell. I'm just starting out, and I'm going at it with a thinking mind, too, and not just firing away. I'll probably create some targets that will spin, or make sounds, when they're hit, just to take away some of the boredom you're talking about. Keep shooting!

Good shooting! I tend to shoot at around 40 feet, at cans. I miss a good bit, but overall, it's pretty good. Weird thing, though -- if I'm shooting steel, I never hit anything. I do the exact same thing with clay, though, and hit a lot. I have no idea why the steel misses... it'd make sense if it was going under the target, since it's heavier, but it goes OVER the target, which makes no sense according to the laws of physics. Strange, strange.

I would really like to see a video with multiple bands at 2-3 maybe 4 of the most popular tapers and shoot 5/16 5/8 1/4 in steel and clay to test speed range and accuracy. That could be a really good reference for people. I didn’t know so I went ahead and bought 1500 5/16 and 1500 3/8 and 1500 3/8 clay to see what I like..

Good video mate really interesting , have you tried using a heavier band at a longer range and bigger ammo I use 11mm and a .8 band and find it flys straighter over a longer distance and get less drop 👍

Did you move aiming point or anchor point to make the ammo go further 🤔

I've watched some videos and it says u need to hold the base of the sling at 45⁰ where you hold it vertically. Is there a difference?

I am absolutely addicted to my catapult/slingshot aswell.the only tip I can give you is you're anchor point, rest you're thumb on you're cheek bone, good luck

I think using full butterfly bands would be more effective when shooting long distance like 65 ft.

I'm only a couple minutes into your video. couldn't help but notice how long you're holding your shot before release. this will significantly slow the speed of your of your projectile. try shooting in one fluid motion without pause. this will also result in a straighter trajectory

Bottom line is your just a dam good ass shooter. When i try going back farther im not hitting nearly like you but practice practice practice.

Not sure your thoughts on fiber optic aiming references but I have a GZK frame that has a multi-prong fiber optic and you can set each prong for 10m increments. It’s pretty handy for distance shooting.
