Doing a header install with a floor jack and stands is no joke. This takes the cake for the most laborious and time consuming things that I’ve done. Overall, I’m incredibly happy with how the car sounds now and to be rid of the awful side pipe rattle.

@@ManuaLiberty I want to do a full exhaust for mine but sucks to find people to do proper tunes up here. I found some spots In NJ that I have to check out we’ll see

Only thing left I wanna change at some point is maybe go back to a H pipe, last track day I went to they were saying I was towards the higher end on the decibel limit so I’ll probably leave the mufflers alone. I don’t envy you on living further north I know emissions are stricter up that way, be sure to post up on here man!

@@ManuaLiberty you right about that. I have the MRT H pipe you might want to try those they give a nice deep tone. One I decide what I’m going to do I’ll definitely post.

Absolutely! I actually had a SCT X4 and decided to go with the Nguage/Lund route.

Yessir, it’s only HPTuners and Nguage to my knowledge.

Man, im debating on even trying to attmept this job on jackstands. No in my town wants to do it for me either. If i do im going to tackle it this weekend. I already bought the damn headers tho, thats the thing. .

Man do I feel that. Overall the actual difficulty isn’t bad? I say that lightheartedly but it’s more time consuming than anything. S197s were never designed around the DOHC. If you have the extra $ it’s worth it to buy aftermarket motor mount brackets to not have to fight them on the install. They’re big, bulky and in the way. Took me 2 weekends due to working thru the weekdays

@YellowHammerGarage the motor mounts is not a bad idea at all! Wish I would've thought about that sooner... how the heck did you get all the bolts torqued is what I want to know? I started the header job, ive got them up in the car now and about to try and get more done this morning after I leave work

@@TheManic.5-OH The mounts are for sure a pain but a lot of the bolts either got another cheater wrench on it or someway to get some extra torque until it felt right. Didn’t see any way to torque them to spec without having the motor out of the car

@YellowHammerGarage dammit, that's what I was afraid of 🥵 I suppose I'll just have to mark each nut and count the turns on a few that I can reach easily, and go from there. Hopefully It works... thanks dude!
