The system is so unfair. The "mom" can be a literal meth head with multiple arrests and yet somehow will still gain custody of the child while the dad destroys his body and soul just trying to see his kids. It's fucking tragic.

Just talked to one of my clients yesterday who got divorced after he found out his wife was having an affair. He makes less than $50k/year, she makes over $200k/year, they have 50/50 joint custody of their child, yet the court ordered HIM to pay over half of his income in child support to the wife. You can't make this shit up. The amount of cases like this just silently flying under the radar is sickening. The judges who order these sentences to men need to be publicly shamed and held accountable for each ludicrous decision they make.

I pay child support and don't see my son at all, last time I seen him he was 8 he turns 12 this month. His mom up and decided she didn't want me to see him at all anymore, changed her number, moved and blocks me on all social media and tells her family to stop relaying my attempts to reach out to her for my son. I remember when my ex wife tried me on this. She hated working, but due to some unknown reason she decided she was gonna divorce me and she did, taking my child and when the court ruled I would have to pay 1,000 dollars in child support, I didn't pay, I instantly stopped working. Got grabbed by the courts a month later where they asked why I wasn't paying child support so I gave them an honest answer. If I'm not with the wife and can't see the child and you don't monitor where it's going, then I'm not gonna pay that 1000 dollars. Funny enough, I got sent to jail for a year and they wanted me to get a job and start paying, and because I was tired of the bull I agreed at the cost of a paternity test. Turns out that the little bastard wasn't even my child. All I got was an apology from the court. And to make it worse, the bitch got with someone and was living perfectly fine without my money, and the child was being raised by her sister.

Going to court, throwing out accusations - of course she won. And as a bonus the dad was banned of any access to the daughter. Soon after he took his life. My sister is adopted and she was given to my parents when she was about 2 months by her birth mom (we’ll call Trish) cause Trish knew them and that they’d give her a good home. Fast forward about 8 years later and the Trish came back to take my sister away to be with her. My parents (who have 5 birth kids and have been together around 42 years as of 2023) thought there was no way the judge would take away a girl from the only family she’d known her whole life. But apparently the judge said that’s exactly what he was going to do. Go figure my Trish was not mother material because she apparently smoked drugs whilst “taking care” of her, as well as just straight saying she was going to take my sister from my family. All this culminated in my sister telling the Psychologist she had been seeing that she would throw herself out of the car if she had to go back with Trish again, to which the Psychologist told my parents saying that he believed her. So my parents went against the court order and took our family in our motorhome and stayed on the drive way of a family friend in the foothills near the city we live in. Upon returning to the court my dad told the judge it was solely his idea and he made my mom go along with it so that way they couldn’t throw her in jail as well. Judge ended up sending the case to a higher form of court or something (basically actual evidence had to be gathered on the various parents, their living situations, jobs and income, how they act independently as well as around the child, etc rather than just relying on the word of each party) Eventually a 3rd independent psychologist wrote a report basically saying that splitting my sister from us would be nothing short of cruel. And it was at that point that Trish and her lawyer gave up. The only thing that really gets me about this is that my sister (who’s around 26 now) still has emotional trauma from her mother.

Sister strung up a guy for child support for a kid she knew wasn't his for 4 or so years. Severed all contact after she couldn't milk him. Guy still considered them his child. My mother actively would feed her bs to cheat the legal system, telling her you will get away with this because you are the mother, they will take your side, just lie to them like this. Have been stalked by her boyfriends she actively cheated on, same guy trying to break into my bedroom window to learn about a kids she already aborted with out his knowledge. Had to lie to his face and say she miscarried because I didn't want to hurt the man with the truth she aborted in large part due to its possible skin color. After their divorce my Mother went full psycho on my Dad. I was too young at the time to understand the full ramifications of things she was asking me to do, believe, and say I now I have to forever live with the knowledge that I hated him for so long because of her lies, he is the only person I could ever really trust, the only person who has ever loved me unconditionally and she brainwashed me into hating him while she made him pay ridiculous amounts of money so that she could buy clothes and cigarettes. I remember she’d have me lay down in the back of her Jeep while she’s spy on my Dad’s apartment. She insisted he had been cheating.. but he told a very different story, about how she had been spending all of the money like crazy, how she refused to work. It wasn’t until she did it to me that I realized he had been telling the truth the entire time. She came to me crying, admitted that she had stolen her sibling’s inheritance and owed them as well as many lenders quite a lot of money. She knew I had a massive college fund set up by my late Grandparents and convinced me to let her use a little bit of it. She stole every penny. It wasn’t just that though, there were a lot of terrible things she did, some I probably would have been justified in killing her over. Come to think of it I probably should have. It wouldn’t have made me happy but maybe it would all hurt less now. The worst part though is the guilt I felt about how my Dad had been treated. He’d been nothing but absolutely honorable through it all and treated me so graciously despite my attitude towards him and constant questioning. He never once hated her, not like me, not like how she felt about him. He always said and you could see it in his eyes that he still loved her and even now in his old age he tells me that if he could he’s liked to have saved her. He is without a doubt the most honorable man I’ve ever met and I’m disgusted with myself that I have been unable to live up to the legacy he created. He didn’t deserve any of the hell she put him through and yet despite all that he persevered and smiled, he regained the vast wealth she had squandered and lived prosperously without her.

She used to hit me a lot, mostly in the face, knowing that I wouldn’t hit her back because I had been raised to respect women above all. And then when she’s reach out to touch me she’d have the nerve to ask me why I was flinching knowing full well what she did to me. My father was the one in my family that taught me almost everything I know, and who was always a guide for myself and my sisters throughout our entire lives. He's never been perfect, he made some mistakes, but he always made sure we were safe, comfortable, and supported. My parents told us they were going to divorce when I was a junior in high school. I'm 21 now. They're still going to court every few months. My mother wants to bleed him for everything he's worth. I love her, but she hasn't always been there for me emotionally, and she tried to turn me against my father, who has always been my role model and the only friend I had as a kid when other kids in school avoided me. When I told her I had faith in him she guilt-tripped me for months and yelled at me telling me basically I wasn't being a good son. My father still to this day only wants what's good for his children, but gets treated like the bad guy, and most of our family, both her side and his won't even talk to him because all the slander she put out to everybody.

Yeah, the child support system is based on the idea that women are always victims and men are always the aggressors. As long as this belief remains rooted in society, the courts will act like this. My mom and grandma were excessively vindictive about minor things during the divorce. Although I am glad that the divorce did happen, and that I wouldn't be seeing Dad for as long as he remained the way he was, it did hurt my Dad significantly - he's still successful and found a new hobby, but he tells me he was in a pretty awful state due to it for about two years. Me and Dad are making up now after seven years, since I was waiting for him to change from someone who pushes their beliefs endlessly into someone who advises but doesn't shove crap down your throat. My Dad was barely physically abusive - the abuse was emotional, and when compared to the stuff my mom's stepdad did to her, my dad's stuff seems quite minor. The Child Support system needs some reforms to deal with their whole sexism shtick, even if I ended up benefitting from it. This is one of the few things that distance me and my Mom as well as my Grandma. I have a neutral relationship with my Grandma (it feels like walking on ice sometimes, she is quite sensitive) and my mom is my best friend (but this is one of the topics that lessen my opinion of her). I have a cold, but warming up relationship with my Dad (he was very, very preachy and emotionally distant, though I feel bad for him because his parents spoiled the crap out of him; nowadays he's warming up, though it could be his midlife crisis)

same, this is going to warn so many men to avoid women, not all women are like this SURE, but the stories are so loud that a lot of men will avoid them until our system faces some serious reform. The paternity fraud's, the affairs, the wasteful spending sprees these women go on, the emotional and financial destruction of decent hard working men... There's just so much messed up stuff going on that women are causing and not facing repercussions for, but I think from this year onwards there's going to be some serious pushback against that and its going to get very loud.

This is why I love the fact that "Liar Liar" included the scene where it shows the father should have full custody of the children, and Jim Carrey's character has an epiphany when the mother refuses to agree to joint custody of how evil she is, and how evil he was for helping people like her.

It's unfortunate that no judges or lawyers like that exist in the real world. Too busy lining their pockets to actually make the right decision and not screw good people over.
@litigioussociety4249
@litigioussociety4249 2 жыл бұрын
@@georgeeast5502 That's only true for judges and district attorneys. There are plenty of goodhearted defense attorneys who want to help people, some are even pro bono. For example, if you get a stupid traffic ticket for something that wasn't unsafe, such as speeding, a rolling stop, not making a complete stop when turning right, etc. that puts too many points on your license, then a lawyer for somewhere between 1.5x - 2x the cost of the ticket can get the ticket removed. They understand that more than 90 percent of law enforcement is about making money for the government, and want to help people from getting oppressed by the government. They have to charge what they do, because of too much market demand and time they have to be in court, so if they charge too little they'll be overwhelmed with having to choose who to help. Also, it costs a lot of money to become such a lawyer, so they need a reasonable rate of return to justify the time spent. The pro bono lawyers usually have clear qualifications for a case to prevent being overwhelmed. Defense attorneys like Fletcher Reed in the movie are super expensive, because their job is to defend people who have broken just laws, and they have the lack of morality and charisma to do it; for example, the people willing to represent Amber Heard. No lawyer with moral integrity would take her case, or they would have at least told her what they could help her settle for, but she wanted someone who could get her out of paying anything. I would actually say there are far more people in things like service trades that screw people over, as Steve Lehto often covers, and finding an honest one like a mechanic is near impossible without word of mouth from someone who was lucky enough to find one.

I'm not going to lie. My mom is a single mother and she tried with my sister's dad. I have to be honest she really did. It feels like the system for the most part treats the parent that's actually doing their best to take care of the kids and all like their requests and all don't matter while the parent that's scheming and doing nothing gets everything without even trying. I feel so sorry for the guys that actually try to be there for their kids but the kid(s)'s mother just makes it incredibly difficult and then paints them in this bad light like they were never there. You just never know how some people are going to act or respond in some situations but money really does bring out people's true nature and those that are already causing chaos and a ruckus just seem to get even worse...

It's not just the court system that treats men like crap. It's also the entire family and friend base of the woman who has the child. Plus the people in courthouse like security that know you are involved in a child support case. I had this one woman who swore I was the father of her child and that she wasn't only with me. Named the little guy after me and all. Her family treated me bad because I wanted to be sure first. That was the worst time of my life how they treated me and all the names they called me. I even almost lost my life in that timeframe. The people in the courthouse made fun of me when they understood i was there for a DNA test. Told me don't forget to pay your child support. Turned out the kid wasn't mine. Until this day her being the woman she was, I doubt she ever told her son I wasn't his father. She probably kept that lie up considering they put my name on his birth certificate without my permission.

Dude. This shit is scary real. Went through this last year and the judge gave her everything she wanted because, and I quote, "I just don't see a reason to not give her what she wants," even though she lied through the whole thing. Called our child disabled to get sympathy from the judge ...our child is not disabled. She is completely healthy, smart and beautiful. I now see her 6 days a month. I have a clean record, served in the air force, have a bachelor's degree and was finishing said degree at the time with my GI bill. The judge said I should only get 23% because I was in school and needed to focus. I'm just glad that a fat feminist commissioner is allowed to decide what is best for me and my child. I also pay maximum child support and she got all my shit. Hardest year of my life

Edit: Some women can have a history against them whether that be drug abuse, violent crimes, or even openly admitting to being a terrible mother, etc…still gets custody over the kid(s) even if they’re negligent. And these same women typically ki11 their kid(s), never take care of them, or/and hardly ever care to be around them. Not all women can be mothers. I know someone that doesn’t care to be around her baby, pushes everything on the dad, and is never happy. Would you believe me if I said that this same woman wished to have a child, and when she got one the passion and love for it… disappeared. Boils down to having a dysfunctional family herself, self-esteem issues, perhaps even selfishness, and a need for attention, so she parades around like a mother. Sad to see it.

It does now.... Didn't always. There was a time when women didn't even get custody. The question is why it flipped.

My dad had to go through the same thing when my mom cheated on my dad while he was deployed and tried to murder us all when he found out after getting home. He had gotten custody of all of his kids and still had to pay 1600 a month in child support. To a woman with no kids in her custody. And he had to attend parental classes and anger management classes for absolutely no reason. My dad had no house and was borrowing another soldier's car so at least he couldn't lose those lol. Child services asked us what we thought of our parents and accused our dad of abusing us because we said we didn't see him often because he was in Iraq or Afghanistan where he got a purple heart. We told the workers all the things our mother had done to us and they said that it was our fault and that rules were in place for a reason and not to act up.

I am disgusted. He had to pay a woman money for kids he was taking care of. He had to take anger management classes and not the mother. The kids got blamed for the decisions a grown woman made. This story gets worse and worse😔

I shed a tear at the last sentence. Kids were always to blamed by their parents action. I always get blamed for acting up and when I detailed all the abuse, their respond are "No it's not that bad".

I've actually seen a guy tell a judge his ex didn't even have a kid and the judge still gave her support. I told my lawyer we needed a different judge. I was willing to pay within reason but she had none to apply.

You know what would go a long way to fixing child custody courts? If the court required the parent receiving money to prove that the money is being spent on the child every month. Literally had to present a budget and receipts.
