The board building mechanic is very similar to how you build trees in Canopy.

You should try Enchanted Plumes. It's another card game that's reminiscent of Lost Cities, but it's different enough to be worth owning both, and is very pretty.

Of course it's a 'reworking' of sorts to Lost Cities. It has the 2 main concepts of Lost Cities: a. Starting a nunerical set loses points until you make it large enough. b. Your cards may be eligible for the other player/s. Just brings it to a 2-4 players game in a cute and nice way, and makes it 'less stressful'... around a simple colorful set collection game. It's a really nice reworking/adaptation and achieves the purposes it set out to do.

Love both Lost Cities and Trambahn. This looks interesting.

I loathe Lost Cities but really enjoy Longboard. We taught it to our 6yo and she picked it up pretty easily. It’s a great game for sneaking in math skills - number sequencing, addition to exchange cards, adding points at the end. We are glad to have this one in our collection.

Agree. I personally love lost cities. Probably one of the most played games in my collection.

There are few games I have played that I have disliked, but Lost Cities is one of them. I recognize it’s a good game, but I actively dislike playing it. (And I really like Reiner Knizia games in general, especially his smaller card games.) Not all games are for everyone! I only referenced LC in my comment because of the comparisons made in the review.
