And while I learned the controls of the game and got immersed into the world bit by bit, it was all in service of the overall goal: Solitude. And then I finally arrived. Whiterun and Morthal were the only cities I had seen so far, and they were cool, but nothing held a candle to that first time visiting the capital. Riften is my all time favorite
@Altrantis3 жыл бұрын
It's the cozier looking one, with a lake, mead and fresh fish. Seems the best to live in if you can avoid thieves.

Besides the main, popular cities my favorites recently are dawnstar and falkreath. I just like the atmosphere there, by the ocean, in the woods. My last few playthroughs my main houses have been there, I usually head right to falkreath to get the Lakeview manor.

Gonna just be dropping them as I think of them Junk, worst to best (value relative to weight, maybe) Best/Worst spell (damage relative to cost) Ingredients, best/worst (overall function relative to rarity/etc) Factions, best/worst Locations/Biomes, best/worst Animal mobs, lamest/coolest You could do “most functional footwear” and I’d watch it, to be honest.

This is my opinion 9: Morthal 8: Winterhold 7: Riften 6: Falkreath 5: Dawnstar 4: Windhelm 3: Soildute 2: Markarth 1: Whiterun
@MyHentaiGirl3 жыл бұрын
Riften is way too low there my friend
@Altrantis3 жыл бұрын
I think people like Whiterun mostly because of familiarity. But think about it, like, if you were there. The houses are kind of... shacks. You can see the sky through the roof, and a lot of them are pretty small. The space is use very inefficiently, and being on top of a tall hill in what's otherwise a plain means it'd be really windy. I think it wouldn't be very good to be in if you actually went there. Also the whole area around the city is empty fields. Good if you're a horse breeder or you have cattle I guess.
@brandonbeuermann75712 жыл бұрын
@@Altrantis being around fields is a plus. That means you have access to farms and food. Most medieval cities irl were surrounded by fields and farms. Transporting mass amounts of food would be so much more difficult in this era than for us. A city like solitude would starve out way before it had a chance to get as big as it did.

Whiterun is just special but I have a warm place for riften the area around it is so pretty and I love the quests in the city it’s small and it’s got a calm feeling to it for me

Markarth is my favorite. It’s very pretty and cool that it’s part of a dwarven ruin built into a mountain. The Reach is my favorite hold in general as well, which obviously gives the city an advantage. Very pretty environment with a lot of messed up shit in it.

You can buy a home in Winterhold...with the right mod installed. Great video, I'm binging on your videos to get re-acquainted with the wonder world of Skyrim. Now where did I put that CBBE mod?

Actually, Morthal, Dawnstar, Falkreath, and Winterhold are towns. While they are the capital of the hold, they aren't constered Cities due to not being walled in. (Also, Dawnstar is way worse than Morthal; don't @ me)
@Altrantis3 жыл бұрын
What makes Dawnstar the worst for me, despite having like... a museum, is how empty it looks. No flowers or gardens or trees or anything, just... frozen stones. Also how there's nothing nearby, the whole The Pale is just... lame.

Maybe you could make ranking on antagonists and villians of the game, factions/guilds, pets, world enemies (ex drauger, trolls, wolves) , jails, kids, races, spells, leaders, standing stones and locations

i love morthal - its small, it has a great jarl, it has water everywhere, the swamp is the most diverse habitat and the hjalmarsch house is located so nicely. Easily number one of my list!

Honestly I like Morthal because of its depressing, marsh atmosphere + vampire quest. Or maybe it's just nostalgia, cause it was my first encounter with vampires during my first playthrough

Love the video. Fun fact, despite popular consensus, and despite that they are hold capitals, Dawnstar, Morthal, Falkreath, and Winterhold are considered towns in game, not cities.
@isaiahpelletier1073 жыл бұрын
Falkreath is my favorite because with the Hearthfire DLC lets you buy a cool house there that you can build yourself if you just complete a simple objective (just like in 2 other towns with Hearthfire DLC) and it is my favorite house, because it isn't cold there and it's in a forest. But of course, Solitude is my favorite, especially when I'm bored so I just play tag with the kids at daytime, and the house costing a lot of Septims? It's worth it.

I would have to have Solitude as no.1 with Whiterun as a close second, or proud Southern rival. I like the way that Solitude has much of the city built on that bridge of rock over the sea. I also like the 'Rohan' feel of Whiterun with the city rising to the Palace on the hill. Winterhold is basically a wreck with only one street and basically no services. The College is pretty cool, but kinda seperate to the "city".
