The Mail is one of the few premade armors that you can keep wearing even when your smithing and enchanting skills are up to snuff. The poison is trash, but it also muffles. Muffle is one of these effects that are hard to get in disenchantable form, and is usually found on boots which causes you to miss out on a slot you could've used for Fortify One-Handed or Fortify Carry Weight. The chest slot, meanwhile, doesn't have a lot of good enchantments anyway unless you're a mage.

2:15 shield in design actually goes back to actual medieval times shields; usually an attacker would get their sword stuck on a wood shield, so people started putting some leather or etc. on the shield to actually welcome the blade into getting stuck in the shield. Of course, a mechanic like this isnt utilized in Skyrim, though.

I have tried so many of the different unique armors in the game, but I always go back to ancient falmer. It’s just something about the set screams “elite knight” or “royal guard”. That, and what it represents: one of the last few reminders of the Snow Elves and their story. How they were once a highly advanced civilization who worshiped Auri-El. How the Nords nearly brought them to extinction. And how they made a devils bargain with the Dwarves in order to survive, and became the blind, bug-loving freaks we all know.

My favorite armors are Daedric, Nordic Carved, and Nightingale, with honorable mentions to Dragonscale and Glass. The female variants of the Forsworn set, Falmer set, Ancient Nord set and Stormcloak General set are also known as the "Men of Culture sets". Say what you want about the male varaints, but on females they just look sexy.
@somenitrogenconsumer88593 жыл бұрын
As a female I like ancient nord armor on female my female characters. It is sexy yet it looks epic. Helmet is great and the main piece is actually somewhat unique, tho I would make it light armor instead of heavy. Also forsworn armor for female sucks. Headpiece could be a hair style or something more grotesque and the main piece looks over all terrible. Maybe longer loincloth and and more closed chest piece reaching down to her waist, still open sides... it would make the look more appealing. Stormcloak general for male is good, for female? It looks weird man, the skirt is way too short that legs look off putting. Bear helm could be bigger and lower so that it would look more menacing, deep cleavage and again FUCING LONGER SKIRT with sides open... God I wish I had more free time that I could learn 3D modeling and remodel these stupid designs... I don’t even want to talk about falmer armor tho it is not meant for surface folks, so it is not that jarring.

The Executioner's armor is pretty bad ass at the early levels, both aesthetically and defensively. It can only be gotten for a limited time though, basically, right after Alduin destroys Helgen and you exit the cave, you need to dip back into Helgen were the executions were being held to get it. No Executioner's Axe though (unless it's super rare).

@xXbrokenvoidXx3 жыл бұрын
God, I forgot how bad most of Skyrim's armors are. Even from a practical standpoint they don't look like they'd provide much protection. Especially leather/scaled/fur. Arrows and swords would go right through it. Blades, Dawnguard Heavy, Iron, Steel Plate, and Ebony are the only ones that look like actual armor.
@ciaranmck44693 жыл бұрын
Yeah one thing I've noticed not a single elder scrolls game uses proper medieval armor like burgundy and they use way too much leather cod leather against a sword is pretty shit
@pagatryx54513 жыл бұрын
@@ciaranmck4469 Ehh... What? Firstly, why would Morrowind use proper medieval armor? The world design in the game, from the ground up, is not trying to be western so if it did use Medieval armour (which is very western) it would be a negative more than anything. Secondly, Oblivion has plenty of proper looking armour. Iron, Mithril, Blades, Guard and Imperial guard, etc. Oblivion even has a close equivalent to Burgundy armour with its steel set. SKYRIM has terrible armour design but Morrowind and Oblivion at least has proper, defensive, armour sets. Granted, some of Oblivions also looks shitty but for the most part they're pretty good.

Well, due to the effective armor cap (after a certain amount of armor, more armor doesn't do anything) and the combination of enchanting, smithing, and alchemy, you can make literally any heavy armor set and most light armor sets get to the effective maximum armor rating. See UESP for details, I don't feel like looking it up again. TLDR: with using all crafting skills, you can make the vast majority of armor sets hit max damage reduction so looks are most of what matters.

It's possible to hit the armor cap in hide armor(lowest armor rating in the game) without a shield or helmet(592+ displayed armor rating). You don't even need to use glitches like with restoration potions, necromage vampirism or stacking headgear. Just max Alchemy, Enchanting, and Smithing. Use Alchemy and Enchanting to boost each other a bit(a few artifacts and powers help with this) and use both to boost Smithing. You also need 5/5 Agile Defender in Light Armor. You can hit the cap in a full set of Ebony Armor(sans shield) without tempering it at all(need Ancient Knowledge, Seeker of Might and all relevant perks in the Heavy Armor skill tree). The Deathbrand armor set well smithed can hit the cap(or close to it) with base 15 skill and no Light Armor perks. It's good for raising that skill(get beat on by giants and/or mammoths, just make sure you are wearing jewelry that reduces Restoration spell cost a lot like 35% on neck and finger). By default, Ancient Knowledge boost all armors except Dwarven by 25% and boosts tempering by 15%. From Solstheim, you need the Relics of Ahzidal and black book Sallow Regent.
