Keshav Ginde playing the bamboo flute .Second person is Azharuddin Shaikh playing "Anahat vanu"the worlds longest flute which produce the lowest octave,the "Laraj Saptak"means lower than "Kharaj saptak".I have fitted Keys or Lever that can close the holes which are not reachable by hands.As so far nobody have fitted keys on such a huge flute.As a result it can be played in any "Raga"and have a musical meaning.In this video we have played raga Malkauns. We have used the "MORCHANA PRINCIPAL"Guruji is playing raga 'Megh" & I am playing Raga "Bhoop"but the result is "Raga Malkauns"

Learning basics with variation is difficult, The only difficulty while playing big flute is finger adjustments, nothing else

I think it is based on Graha Bheda of Carnatic Music. Ragas such as Megh, Bhoop and Malkauns are known as Madhyamavathi, Mohanam and Hindolam respectively. On shifting the pitch of the Swaras at different positions, these ragas yield each other. For example, the Aaroh and Avroh of Raag Bhoop are - S R2 G3 P D2 S and S D2 P G3 R2 S. If you shift the base note 'S' to 'R2' and sing them, u get R2 G3 P D2 S R2 and R2 S D2 P G3 R, which sounds exactly like S R2 M1 P N2 S and S N2 P M1 R2 S, which gives you the Aaroh and Avroh of Raag MEGH. Now, if you shift the Base to G3, you get G3 P D2 S R2 G3 and G3 R2 S D2 P G3, which sounds exactly like S G2 M1 D1 N2 S and S N2 D1 M G2 S, the Aaroh and Avroh of Raag MALKAUNS.

It actually sounds divine and so soothing! A great effort and initiative. The notes at the bottom would be barely audible...the top notes are enough to mystify the mind and soul!!

What an idea......EXCELLENT.....its a super duper bass flute ...that anyone can ever imagine...!!!! I am also a flute player too and have my own videos in youtube BUT this is something that anyone could have ever imagined...this is so serious and so haunting and so much loaded with feelings....this flute should be the ultimate flute for playing "Aalap" ....great thought ...great mechanism and great invention...
