Longest Lasting Vans Skate Shoe?

I put the new Half Cab Pros to the test. I skated these 4 days a week for 6 weeks. Do they still have life left in them?!

In my experience with Vulc shoes, it definitely depends on the type of skating you are doing, if I’m skating normally in a park doing a good mix of everything Vulc shoes, and skate shoes in general tend to last longer for me, but if I’m specifically focusing on learning a trick or practicing old ones, like a solid sesh where I’m focusing on nollie flip, the toe cap tends to wear out a lot quicker

Between airwalk velocity and cabs, I’m not sure which were the coolest shoes of the late 80s early 90d, but definitely had to be one the 2.

Very nice. They look more low profile when skating them, than I had thought! My friend loves them, but I have not yet given them a try.

I love them. I'll probably buy them again considering how long they last. If you're used to slip ons and smaller shoes you might find them more difficult getting used to.

That's some solid durability on the side. I have Rowan Pros and they're the same. The soles going on them first. I'd try Half Cabs, just worried about ankle flexibility.

I was too when I first bought them but they give ankle support while still being able to move your more ankle freely than a hi top!

I notice with the new upgrade you really have to break them in after a couple of sessions. Not an easy one right out of the box

I bought a week ago a pair of standard ones and switched them for the pros, the heel cush is much softer and my feet and uncles hurt much less with this, before this I had a pair of rusty’s and the really hurt my feet.

I usually go a half size up in half cab pros due to having a wide forefoot. I assume these fit about the same as the previous half cab pros? Maybe I should be trying out the classic half cab, I think those may be a bit wider than the pro.

They fit the same as the previous pros. I’ve never tried the classic so I couldn’t tell you.

What's the break in time like on these? The Nikes I skate last a while but take so long to break in. Makes me wonder if it's worth it sometimes

I think it really depends on what you like to skate. I liked them right out of the box and felt comfortable with them within the first couple hours, I guess I'm just used to a new Vans shoe - just put less foot on the board (they're very grippy at first).

Same here. I noticed it after a couple sessions. I think it actually made the shoe better and gave it some flexibility once it ripped. Too much blue foam around the ankle.

I like skated worn Vans. For some reason I have problems doing it. Wandering if you can skate a pair for it. I’ll pay for the shoes and you doing it.

Same same. The new ones in this video are branded on Vans.ca as "Skate Half Cab". They are better than the previous model.

There are no longer new Pro Classics. Skate Classics revamped the Pro series. So, you can purchase Classics or Skate Classics. No more Half Cab Pro.

those are regular but new half cabs, half cab pros have ultracush insole

Nah, these are the revamped Skate Classics Half Cabs. The Pro Classics line no longer exists. UltraCush is still used in some shoes. The Skate Sk8-Mid for Jeff Grosso use the same 3-D UltraCush insoles as the Chima 2s. Besides this example, all other Vans skateboarding shoes started switching to PopCush around Summer 2020. My pair of Old Skool Pros have PopCush from that time period prior to the Skate Classics line being announced.
