Nathan S. Cheng is the program director at On Deck Longevity Biotech, the founder of Longevity Marketcap and Longevity List, a co-founder and general partner at Healthspan Capital, and the host of the Longevity Biotech Show, a growing podcast. Nathan earned his Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Toronto and was awarded both CGS-Masters and CGS-Doctoral graduate scholarships from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
The Ending Age-Related Diseases Conference by Lifespan.io brings together leading experts in rejuvenation biotechnology to discuss new research developments, as well as investment prospects. At EARD 2021, the rejuvenation biotechnology industry was examined as an ecosystem. Gaps in coordination and collaboration were identified, as well as how those gaps could be filled by a concerted effort of the life extension community. Special attention was also paid to the burden of neurodegenerative diseases, along with innovative approaches to maintaining mental health and rejuvenating the aging brain.

Since the US-based FDA is such a huge impediment to longevity therapies, it might be good to add a section on which regions of the Earth are most longevity-friendly. We may well see faster progress in those regions. For instance, gene and stem cell therapies and research which are perfectly reasonable now have to be done outside of the jurisdiction of the US/FDA (e.g., Liz Parrish's gene therapies). Of course, it would be ideal if we could greatly scale back the crippling power of the FDA, but I don't see that happening any time soon.....

What we need is outreach. By building a large following we can get the attention of things like the FDA and major governments to support the cause.

@@warioland523 Don't be naive, the FDA are in league with many pharmaceutical giants and are in no way incentivized to support the sort of longevity research that'll end up yielding highly effective therapies

True, FDA out here trying to ban IV NAD+ drips. Not patent-able, not profitable, not controllable. The FDA are corrupt and are an absolute blight on the medical world at current

Loved it. I really find it useful to know name of the people and startupS. Sadly I don't have the knowledge to understand some of the videos. But this one was good!

The next Apple or Amazon stock is going to be in this industry. Imagine how much money people are willing to pay in order to buy more health, time and youth!
