What if the person you're concerned about has their sword pointed at God. They don't put it down. I love them so much. I try to lay my sword down daily, but i can only pray for them.

Love this question! God fights with the sword of the tongue not the sword of iron. Keep living in what God taught you keep speaking about God and His love and His mercy. Most people rebel against God because we as a church have turned an ALL merciful God into a God that condemns and a God that hates. God is longsuffering. Be longsuffering as well. We plant the seed and water it but God brings the increase. Some seeds take longer to start growing than others. Stay in your kindness and unconditional love and eventually this person will see and that seed will begin to grow. Have faith that just by speaking the name of Jesus that there will be a point in their life where they plead out and call on that name. I knew nothing about God other than the name of Jesus on the day He came to me and saved me. I KNEW it was Him and my life has never been the same.

So first love is people? Return to the first things is poverty of spirit. First love is the love of God. These people knew doctrine so well they’d graduated…

Is that what John intended? John? John is writing the THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST? This is what Holy Spirit revealed to me a couple weeks ago and continues to point out where to drop it…the simplistic, foundational, contextual revelation my word gives does not negate the complex living nature of my word. The complexity of revelation CAN NOT contradict the foundation. As the word lives inside us all the temple is built upon the foundation of Christ and the apostles. The word living in me means a lot of personal experiences with God, not just the experiences of 2k years ago.

So I'm not very far into this video, but I had to throw this out there. I get your UPS theory, and I think it's possible, but what if both takes on the letters to the churches are right? The more I study the bible, the more I am realizing how great God is. When you look at the OT and the stories and symbolism, you see that even though they were living everyday life, it had a deeper meaning about Jesus and salvation. For example, Moses was just living life and doing what God told him to do. He may or may not have understood the deeper meaning of the first passover, the journey through the wilderness, and the entrance into the promised land. He was just living life dealing with the Israelites and following God. Much like Paul was living life dealing with the churches and following God. That doesn't mean there isn't a deeper meaning to the letters that he wrote. Is it possible that they had a double meaning? Could they have been for the people of the churches at that time and also prophetic? Idk, I'm not a bible scholar, but I can see where the OT is written in that way, and God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. So, I think it's possible.

@@ashunichachei1209 My question was to point to the statement made in the sermon that a prisoner of Rome would not have the resources to write a letter from prison. Paul was able to, why not John?

Paul had multiple visitors while on house arrest in Rome so he more than likely had people supporting him which enables him to write his letters. John on the other hand was on an island and didn’t have people visiting/supporting him.
