I ran into an old professor at the Spring game last year. We talked about how different and exciting things are with academics and athletics sat UT compared to 20 yrs ago. He commented that UT Academia is still out of touch with UT Athletics and a closer partnership should evolve where Academia should leverage what UTfootball Spring game is bringing to campus. Spring game weekend should have open house events at all the colleges and departments on campus so high school juniors and families can come and check out all the business cholla, lib arts, engineering programs, etc and just make it 8nto a big UT weekend. Instead of just the spring game. Even alumni can go back to their old colleges, see what’s going on, that connectivity spurs alumni donations to academics. Then, take the family to do some rides, eat some BBQ, and then enjoy the Spring game.
